Monster Focus

In this week's Social Media Challenge, I want to showcase a hidden treasure within the Fire Splinter: the DJINN INFERNI. With the introduction of the Conqueror Jacek Summoner, I've personally noticed a significant enhancement in the utility of this Monster compared to the past!

Despite DJINN INFERNI"S vulnerability, the Monster possesses the GIANT KILLER, which can prove invaluable, especially in battles with a high mana capacity! Join me as I dive into its array of abilities it holds in battles. Get ready to be impressed by the strategic advantages this powerhouse brings to the table! 😜

Ability Focus

Giant Killer - Does double damage against targets that cost 10 or more mana

Stun - When a Monster with Stun hits a target,
it has a chance to stun the target causing it to skip its next turn

The Battle

While fulfilling my responsibilities in the Splinterlands scholarship account I have with Balthazar, bltzr-wizard-729, I was able engage in a battle that showcased the overwhelming prowess of using the DJINN INFERNI and especially its GIANT KILLER ability. To get right into the action, the battle link can be found here. Otherwise, do read on as I go into more detail regarding the lineup and fight.

Now, let us take a closer look at the rulesets that govern this battle. This battle is exceptionally straightforward, featuring a singular ruleset and a sole Splinter permitted for use. The regulations outlined in the Broken Arrow ruleset prohibit the involvement of any Monsters capable of Ranged attacks. Additionally, the battle is constrained to a mana limit of 50, and exclusively allow the use of the Fire Splinter.

Summoner, Conqueror Jacek

Given that the ruleset only allows the use of the Fire Splinter, the Summoner choice from my arsenal was always down to the choice of either Tarsha or Conqueror Jacek. I opted for the latter due to the valuable buffs awarded to the lineup that would definitely outweigh the +1 Melee attack buff offered by Tarsha. By leveraging on Conqueror Jacek's +2 Speed boost, Scattershot and Piercing abilities, my strategy aimed to swiftly dispatch the opponent ✌️

First Position, Arkemis The Bear

To kick things off, we encounter an incredibly robust tank in the shape of Arkemis The Bear. Having this Monster at your disposal is an absolute delight, considering its affiliation with the Neutral Splinter and its Common rarity status! In scenarios where mana limitations aren't a concern, Arkemis The Bear tends to find a frequent spot in my lineup. The Monster boasts remarkable abilities like Protect, Halving, Forcefield, and even Enrage 💪

Second Position, Ferexian Hero

Positioning the Ferexian Hero in the second slot provides strategic benefits, courtesy of its Reach ability. Fortunately, I've been lucky to have upgraded this Soulbound Reward Card to Level 3, unlocking the extra Reflection Shield capability. This specific attribute proves invaluable, particularly when confronting an adversary tanker equipped with the Thorns ability, as the Reflection Shield effectively blocks any retaliatory damage 😤

Third Position, Magi Of Chaos
Fifth Position, Djinn Apprentice

Magi Of Chaos and Djinn Apprentice emerge as cost-effective yet formidable damage-dealing Monsters in the game. With a mere combined mana cost of 11, they showcase impressive stats, each wielding a potent 4 Magic attack! Due to the Broken Arrow ruleset, I could only unleash these Magic Monsters from the backline! 😜

Fourth Position, Djinn Inferni

DJINN INFERNI"S stands out as an immensely potent Monster recognized for its outstanding Magic damage and remarkable Speed, allowing it to execute rapid attacks and potentially eliminate opponents before they have a chance to counterattack. Furthermore, Djinn Inferni possesses the often overlooked GIANT KILLER ability, enabling it to inflict double damage when confronting a target (such as Grum Flameblade or Coeurl Lurker) with a mana cost of 10 or more! 😁

Last Position, Dumacke Orc

Drumacke Orc distinguishes itself as the perfect rear-line tank, owing to its set of abilities adept at countering Melee Monster assaults. This trait proves particularly valuable in the current ruleset featuring Broken Arrow and exclusively permitting the use of the Fire Splinter. With three highly effective abilities - Shield, Retaliate, and Thorns - this Monster establishes a resilient defense and serves as a potent countermeasure against Sneak attacks! 😎

The Analysis

Similarly to my strategic approach, the opponent also opted to utilize Conqueror Jacek as their preferred Summoner, deeming it a superior choice compared to Tarsha in light of the battle's rulesets. However, the outlook of the battle took a less optimistic turn for me upon observing the opponent's lineup at the outset, featuring numerous Riftwatchers and Rebellion Cards. This was concerning given my exclusive possession of Chaos Legion Monsters! 😖

Our team compositions exhibit similarities, featuring formidable Melee tankers and a Melee Monster supporting from the second position equipped with Reach ability. In the backline, Magic Monsters are strategically positioned to consistently inflict damage. Upon revisiting the lineup, it becomes even more daunting, as the opponent's Magic Monsters, namely Immolation and Scavo Technomancer, both possess the formidable Blast ability as well! ☠️

Nevertheless, in battles involving Conqueror Jacek and the Scattershot abilities, success heavily relies on a stroke of luck, given that attacks randomly target Monsters on the battlefield. Surprisingly, in this specific battle, the RNG God, which seldom favors me, inexplicably extended its full support. Words fall short in conveying the sheer amazement of the moment, so I've created GIFs below to vividly illustrate it! Enjoy! 🤗
