Yes Splinterlands is a game built on Hive blockchain. So you will find lots of DApps (Decentralized Apps) on Hive which might interest you.
Splinterlands is one of them on Hive and it's doing great and attracting players at the moment.
It is basically about collecting cards and battling against opponents, the cards have different abilities the more you have them the more choices you have in your battle strategies and winning battles.
Each battle yoh win earns you tokens called DEC which can be traded fro Hive even Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
Splinterlands is fun, it is an addiction I've only been playing it for a year and am hooked like one hooked on drugs.
Besides the fun part the Rewards are just awesome.

I think you making the right decision in taking it a day at a time. Being all over the show might be overwhelming.
