Earthquake Ruleset

image.png

Description:

All non-flying units take 2 physical damage at the end of every turn.

Snared units are considered non-flying. Since the damage given is physical, it can be reduced to 1 if the unit has the shield ability.

Using monsters with Flying or Heal is the trick for this ruleset, but if you are unable to choose such monsters, use monsters that have high HP and high damage. Don't keep heal units up front. Shield has a very important role. Using Brighton Bloom as summoner can help in this ruleset. Keep monsters with Flying in last positions when Earthquake has done enough damage to both sides.

The Battle Ruleset

Earthquake: Non-flying Monsters take 2 Melee damage at the end of each round.
Counterspell: All Monsters have the Magic Reflect ability.

This is a high mana ruleset game and only two color is available to play, which is the Fire and Life Splinters. The Earthquake ruleset is a very difficult one, because it will damage all of the monsters on the battlefield with two damage at the end of every round unles they have the Flying ability.

The Counterspell ruleset is another interesting ruleset, because it means that all the magic attack monsters will take reflected damage back to themselves when they damage an enemy monster.

My Team Composition

image.png

Yodin Zaku is an amazing legendary summoner for 7 mana who gives +1 ranged attack to all of his monsters, +1 health and the Blast ability, which will make his monsters to indirectly damage the monsters next to their target. This will allow their monsters to deal significant damage, before the Earthquake could kill all the non-flying monsters in my team.

image.png

The Tusk the Wide is a very good tank with big health and with the Void ability, which means that he will be able to halves all the incoming magic attack damage.

image.png

The Ferox Defender is one of the new soulbound card and it will be my second off-tank, because he has quite a lot of health and armor. More importantly he has the Protect ability, which means that he will give two armor to all of his friendly monsters as logn as he is alive.

image.png

The Lava Launcher is an epic ranged attack creature with the Close Range ability from level one, which means that he is able to attack from the first position as well. His cost is nine mana and he is a perfect addition in a Yodin team.

image.png

The Ash Mirage is a ranged attack counter against any ranged attack monster from the enemy team, because his only one ability is the Headwinds, which will decrease the ranged attack of the enemy monsters by one as long as he is alive. His high speed and amazing attack damage with Yodin is also a huge advantage to use him in this battle.

image.png

The Gargoya Devil is an amazing monster paired with Yodin Zaku, because he will take advantage of his plus one ranged attack buff raising his attack to three. He doesn't have too much health, but at least he is aable to attack from the first position if he has to.

The Spark Pixies is a low cost Flying monster with an incredible amount of speed. He has plus two ranged attack, and he is not going to get damaged from the Earthquake ruleset, because he is able to fly.

My all time favorite summoner is Yodin Zaku and if it is used correctly the battle almost feels like cheating against my opponent.

My opponent tried to take advantage of a Gladiator monster from his second position and their speciality is their Bloodlust ability, so if he kills a monster from my team he will increase his own stats by one.

My opponent made a huge mistake to bring a Taunt monster in his team, but the biggest mistake he made is to put her in between two of his monsters, so all the a Blast damage she received was also damaging their two other monsters as well.

I was a bit lucky in the first round, because his Gladiator card couldn't kill my tank and he couldn't level up himself. At the end of the first round the Earthquake damage eventually killed my Tusk the Wide and his Supply Runner. In the second round my Spark Pixie attacked his monster with the Taunt ability and thanks to the Blast ability on him he killed their Gargoya Devil as well.

Luckily my Defender survived the Gladiator monster attack again, so he couldn't use his Bloodlust ability on him, but the Earthquake killed him instead, which is much better. In the next round my monsters were way quicker than his and the enormous damage from the Blast abilities made my opponent to lose this battle.

Do you like Earthquake? Why or why not?

This ruleset is a difficult one if you do not use a team with high speed and attack damage to win the battle quickly or monsters with the Flying ability, because the continous Earthquake damage is just too much to handle with a regular monster.
