The Battle Ruleset

Melee Mayhem: Melee attack Monsters can attack from any position.
Five Alive: Up to five Units can be used.
Stampede: The Trample ability can trigger multiple times per attack if the trampled Monster is killed.

This is a high mana ruleset game and three color is available to play, which is the Water, Earth and Dragon Splinters. The Five Alive ruleset will makes the decision for my battle plan a bit mroe difficult, because I can choose only five monster per battle, but also makes to predict the lineup of my opponent.

The Melee Mayhem is one of my favorite ruleset, because I can use different strategy than usual using a lot of melee attack monsters. This ruleset will allow all the melee monsters to attack from the backline as well.

My Team Composition

image.png

Kelya Frendul is a very good summoner for this ruleset, because he gives one speed and armor to all of his monsters, which is amazing to boost their speed up to attack first and to block one melee or ranged attack per monster.

image.png

The Diemonshark will be my tank in this game, because he has a lot of speed on its own with quite a lot health and armor, so if he is lucky and will be able to kill his target he will get another attack thanks to his Trample ability.

image.png

Noa the Just is my second tank and he cost only 5 mana, because he doesn't have any attack on its own. That is why I used the Kulu Mastermind after him to provide him some melee attack from the Kulu's Weapon Training ability.

image.png

The Kulu Mastermind is very good damage dealer, because he has five on its own and he will always target the loest health monster from the enemy team using his Opportunity ability. His Weapon Training is amazing to increase the attack of Noa.

The Drybone Raider has an interesting ability, which is the Double Strike, so he will attack two times in every round, but their is a trick here, because he has two different type of attack, so he will be able to attack four times (two ranged and two melee) in every round.

I used the Coastal Sentry at the back of my backline, because she has the highest damage output out of my monsters, because she also has the Double Strike ability, so she might be able to deal two times 4 melee attack damage if she manages to hit her target.

My strategy as usual was to deal as much as damage possible the shortest amount of time and my opponent tried to do everything to counter my team. He picked Camila as her Summoner who decreases the melee attack of all my monsters by one and he also used Rage who is one of the most expensive monster in the game.

I think it was a key moment for my Kulu to kill their Merdaali Guardian in the first round, because they lost their main support monster straight away.

The Double Strike on my monsters worked as I was planned and they killed their Naga Brute, but sadly my team also lost the Diemonshark as well.

The second round was quite bad for my team, because they missed a lot of attacks against their Rage and we lost another monster who was Noa as my second tank.

Luckily in the third round my team finally killed Rage, but they were still pretty strong. My two Double Strike monster started to shine and they killed another monster from the enemy team and only his Kulu left against three of my monsters, which was an easy kill for my monsters. 😀

Do you like Five Alive? Why or why not?

This ruleset is nothing special, because it just limits the amount of monster slots per battle and if you choose your monsters accordingly it doesn't really change much in the battle.
