The Battle Ruleset

image.png

Armoured Up: All Monsters have 2 Armor in addition to their normal Armor stat.
Holy Protection: All Monsters have the Divine Shield ability.
Silenced Summoners: Summoners do not give any stat buffs or debuffs or grant/use any abilities.

This is a high mana ruleset game and almost every color is available to play, except the Water and Death Splinters. The high mana cap made me to choose Quix the Devious, because I can take advantage of the Dragon cards especially one of my favorite, which is the Chaos Dragon.

My Team

image.png
Quix the Devious mana cost is 4, which is quite nice for two ability decreasing the ranged attack and speed of the enemy monsters by one. Unfortunately all the summoners were silenced, so they couldn't use their abilities.
image.png
The Djinn Chwala is an amazing tank especialy against the enemy melee attack monsters, because he has the Thorns ability, which will reflect two damage back to his attackers. He has a quite high health and armor for only 8 mana.
image.png
The Stitch Leech is a cheap damage dealer for only three mana and with the Life Leech abbility, so he will steal half of his damage as an extra health for himself. The Sneak will enable him to attack the last monster from the enemy backline, but only if they do not have a Taunt monster.
image.png
Djinn Renova is an excellent all around monster, because she has a lot of magic damage with the Strengthen ability, which will increase the health of her friendly monsters. Her Triage ability is very useful to heal up my backline especially Iziar who is using his Taunt ability.
image.png
Iziar is an amazing monster, because he is very strong and has the Taunt ability, which makes all enemy Monsters target this Monster (if they are able to). In this way my team has a lot of time to deal damage against the enemy team. Even if he dies he will buff the monsters next to him thanks to his Martyr ability.
image.png
The Chaos Dragon is my main damage dealer in this battle, because he has a 3 Magic damage with the Blast ability, which will enable him to indirectly damage two monsters next to his target. The Blind is also good to make the enemy monsters miss my creatures with their attack.
image.png
I used Adelade Brightwing, because she has the Repair ability, so she will restores some armor to the friendly Monster whose armor has taken the most damage and she also has the Resurrect ability as well, so she will bring back the first friendly monster who will die in the battle, which probably will be Iziar.

The Battle

My opponent tried to copy my setup brining his own Iziar to also divert the damage, but mine was way superior being a level 3 version and with the Martyr ability. Plus when he dies my Adealde will Resurrect him back to life and my team will take advantage of his double Martyr ability.

There was a lot of damage dealt throughout three round, but the two Life team healed and repaired back a lot of lost damage. The main difference between our teams was that my Chaos Dragon and his Scattershot ability completely ignored his Iziar Taunt ability and he made the first kill in the battle, which was his Prismologist.

His Adelade Resurrected him back to life with only one health, so I just had to wait for my Chaos Dragon to be lucky and hit him again.

In the fifth round I have lost my Iziar as the first time and he made my Chaos Dragon and Djinn Renova even stronger.

The sixth round was game changing, because my Chaos Dragon killed two of his monsters and one in the fifth round, so my opponent lost half of his team already and my team was still full.

I just had to wait another two round until my Chaos Dragon removed their support monsters and allowed to my team to finally kill their Uriel.

Do you like Holy Protection? Why or why not?

Yes I like it a lot, because it allows me to pick up some weak monsters and use them to block even more attacks than usual. The extra Divine Shield works twice on the Resurrected monsters further boosting them. 😀
