They say there is nothing more beautiful than a Regal Peryton. They prefer to live in the mountains all across the Splinterlands, rarely seen by others. When they soar through the skies, the sunlight catches through their wings and creates rainbows underneath them. Regal Perytons are highly intelligent and consider themselves noble guardians of the natural world, using their magic to help others.
Rihue lay upon a rocky outcropping on the side of the mountain, shivering beneath an overcast sky. He stared at his ruined leg and his broken ankle.

He’d been hunting game and gathering fruits and berries for his wife and daughter who lived back home in their little cabin when he’d slipped and shattered his leg on the rocks. He’d shouted himself hoarse, but it was no use. No one could hear him. No one was coming.

That had been three days ago. His food and water were gone. He couldn’t make it back down the mountain on his own. He was going to die.

But then Rihue heard a call like that of a bird and saw a creature descending through the sky toward him. It had the head and body of a stag, with massive antlers upon its head, but instead of forelegs, two mighty wings grew from its shoulders. Its coat and feathers were white and shades of purple, and it was the most beautiful creature Rihue had ever seen.

The Regal Peryton landed beside him on the outcropping and regarding him with one intelligent eye. Then it lowered itself and, with a nod of its majestic head, extended a wing.

Rihue crawled toward it, up the wing and onto the creatures back. He clung tightly as it spread its wings and soared into the sky, down the mountain, and toward salvation.

The Stats of the Regal Peryton

The Regal Peryton is a rare magic attack monster within the Earth Splinter. His stats are good, his attack will increase to two on level three, which makes this monster a bit stronger especially with the Obsidian who will provide him an extra attack as well. He has Flying ability which gives him +25% evade from melee and ranged attacks.

Flying: Has an increased chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Monsters who do not have the Flying ability.

Usually I am playing with the Obsidian, but recently her price of rent skyrocketed, that is why I have tried a different approach this time and I rented the Wizard of Eastwood. 😀

My Team

	Wizard of Eastwood is the cheapest summoner within the Earth Splinters in modern game mode (either to rent and mana caost wise), his ability is to remove two armor from all of the opponent creatures. He is the perfect counter to Kelya Frendul and his cost is only 3 mana.
	The Mycelic Infantry is a good rare tank with shield ability and 3 armor in level one. He will receive the giant killer ability on level five, which I like a lot. His speed is only one therefore he is the perfect monster in Reverse speed ruleset.
	The Goblin Psychic is a magic attack monster with tank heal ability on level one onwards. He will get the affliction ability on level four and Silence ability on level seven.
	The Rune Crafter is a good choice in this team, because he is a ranged attack creature with Fury ability, which meanse that he is doing double damage to enemy taunt monsters.
	Uloth Dhampir is a ranged attack monster with Stun ability. His attack is 3 and he has 8 health and 2 speed. He is a strong monster, but his mana cost is also high.
	Supply Runner is a common ranged attack monster for 6 mana cost. He will get Swiftness on level five, which means he will increase the speed to all ally creatures by one.
	The Reagal Peryton is a magic attack monster costing only 5 mana and he has 6 health and 5 speed. He has Flying ability. I always try to include him into any setup I create.

The Battle Rulesets

Aim True: Melee and Ranged attacks always hit their target.

Rise of the Commons: Only Common and Rare Monsters may be used the battles.

The Battle

I choose the Earth Splinter for this ruleset, because it has a lot of good common and rare monsters to choose from. I hired Wizard of Eastwood, because he is very cheap and he removes 2 armor from all of the opponent creatures.

I brought a mixed team therefore my opponent will have a hard time counter me. I used one strong tank, two healer, three ranged attack monster and of course the Regal Peryton as a last creature in my backline to try to evade some of the Sneaker monsters, but my opponent didn't use any.

My opponent choosed the Obsidian with mixed team as well, but his strategy was to divert my attack damage to his Mycelic Slipspawn whom had the taunt ability.

My strategy worked, because my Rune Crafter with the Fury ability caused double damage to his taunt monster. (Surprise surprise... 😁) After the Mycelic Slipspawn died, my ranged attack creatures killed my opponent monsters one by one.

The Supply Runner gave one extra speed to all of my monsters and my Uloth Dhampir stunned some of my enemy creatures. I won this battle easily even though the Obsidian is a much stronger and popular summoner on paper. 😺

Do you like the Regal Peryton? Why or why not?

Yes, I like him a lot. He is an excellent monster with big stats and Flying abilitiy with 5 speed. The enemy monsters can't hit him easily thanks to his +25 chance to evade the incoming attacks. The Regal Peryton is a monster that I always try to choose when I am playing with the Earth Splinter especially in the Earthquake ruleset.
