Land development got even better on Splinterlands!

Hi,

we have another announcement regarding buildings on land plots. The post can be read under the Splinterlands account in here.

Well, this changes a lot of planning dynamics. We all knew that we need a lot of DEC and a lot of cards, to be able to hold them on land. We now know, that we require a lot more DEC, cards, grain, and time crystals at least.

Till now, grain was a resource that was slightly abundant in the game economy. With the new announcement, it shifted to a more scarce resource, and on the long term, it might be better to save it, rather than to sell it. Why, well, there will be so much to do, that the grain will not be in focus.

Grain will be farmed only on the Plains, River, Bog, Lake plots, which are under the quarter of the available plots. Some of this are magical, and I think, people will go for the magical resources on them, not for grain, or at least this is what I would do, as this resource would be even more scarce.

Now, the plots above will not only produce the resources, but some will be used as refineries:

As Aggie said, there would not be enough for everyone. With my over 100 plots, I still need to purchase different types of plots, to be able to craft half of the items above. I'm lucky to have some magical plots, one of which is an epic one for water. I have from every kind plots, but some are only common as rarity.

One of the gems of last post, will increase the value of the common plots by a lot. This is that the rarity of the land plot will NOT affect the rate of production from resource refinement buildings and the amount of storage available from resource storage buildings. This information is gold, as the higher tier plots can be used for resource production and the lower tier ones, preferably the commons, for storage and refinement.

DEC, besides resources will be needed for upgrading the buildings, as there will be 10 levels of upgrades for each building. It might be, that time crystals will be playing a significant role in the upgrades, as we have seen that clearing plots can be very long.

So, this week, I managed to become grain positive and will start focusing on building the research huts on the magical plots, keeping the grain on plus in the meantime. It would be one research plot to 3 grain plots. The economy is forcing to build from top to down, Starting with mythical, which is the keep, to legendaries, which is optimised for the 100000 base production points already, to the epics, rares and commons. I might double-check how many commons I will build, as I might start with refineries and storage units on them, when land phase 2.0 is coming.

Are you excited about the weekly white paper release as much as I am? Do you shift your strategy accordingly? What would be your focus? Resources or refined products?

Why you think grain will be scarce? Based on this?:

Grain will be farmed only on the Plains, River, Bog, Lake plots, which are under the quarter of the available plots.

I did not think about the other coming ressources though, just trying to be grain neutral befpre Christmas :-)

Yes, it will be generated on few plots, and workers will need a lot of it to be able to operate. I stopped selling it, and will try to hold as much as it gets.
