What a week in Splinterlands, Rebellion launch and another part of the Praetoria white paper disclosed

Hi,

it was a very full week in Splinterlands, where the newest set was launched, Rebellion and some other announcement was made.

Before and during the launch, there was a small discord party held, where the vibe was very positive, which somehow was missed the past year or so. It was like in the early days, at the Alpha launch, which happened 5 and a half years ago.

I've bought enough packs, to achieve the guaranteed needed cards to be able to maximize the Mantaroth and the Grimbardun Smith. Also, I wanted to be in the top 100, to be able to receive the epic title. I've managed to get the epic title with a push in the last hour for the packs, which I think in the long run makes a lot of sense, as the title help the land development and somehow, the target is to maximize the Rebellion card set.

Well, as the airdrop contained a lot of gold foils, I had to buy one more card for the regular foil version for Grimbardun Smith. The maxed Mantaroth gold foil card, I've sold within the guild, to one gold foil player. With the gains, will start further 15 plots of land and will probably maximize relevant Rebellion cards.

From the legendaries, I've managed to upgrade to the highest level, 3 further cards, besides the Mantharoth. The most relevant being the Akan, which is a dragon summoner card.

Here I need to make a choice, either focus on the summoner first, legendaries, or most used cards in the game. On the Riftwatcher set, I've bought one summoner, the Ilthain, and some relevant cards, that are used very often and have a high win rate. Definitely will continue to upgrade this set also, as it is going to be relevant for the next year.

Another important point this week, was that we had another announcement from the Splinterlands team. It is the second part of the land white paper, the 2.0 version of Praetoria, where the resources are described. The whole post can be read under this link.

This changed the complete dynamic of land and how I planned it till now.

The basic natural resources are as follows:

  • Grain - Produced by Farm buildings and used as food for workers. Are found on these terrain types: Plains, River, Bog, Lake
  • Wood - Produced by Logging Camp buildings and used as a fuel source for resource refining or to create Planks in a Sawmill building for use in building construction and maintenance. Are found on these terrain types: Swamp, Forest, Tundra, Jungle
  • Stone - Produced by Quarry buildings and used to refine into Elemental Stones which are needed for building construction and maintenance. Are found on these terrain types: Desert, Canyon, Hills
  • Ores - There are five different types of ores that can be produced by a Mine building. Are found on these terrain types: Mountain, Badlands, Caldera

Why I need to change the plan? Well, I was starting building grain farms all over the common plots, not taking in account what resources will be needed later in the game. Building a farm for grain in the mountains, would be a bad idea in the long run. As my main plots are Bogs, will start developing them. This means, I need to buy more Water and Death cards, to keep up with the production needs.

Till land 2.0 is launched, the other plots will probably be build with Shard mines, if grain is neutral, as I see it is still going for a decent amount on the market, and I prefer to invest the resources in cards.

How about you? Did you take part in the last week's events?

Yes, it was a huge win. I wait for the wagons, and somehow I'm happy that it got delayed, as I'm buying further cards for it and vouchers.

Hello friend. You can still make it to the top 100 users on Hive's Zealy campaign as there is a possibility of recovering missed quests. Don't give up. You can do it.
