Why it is good that we have a delay in the land release, at least from my point of view

Hi,

the past days, there has been a lot of noise, due to the postponement of the land release 1.5 on Splinterlands. Well, I say it is better this way, as the product is not ready. It is also safer to hold the release, than to lose cards and assets due to a bug.

Also, use the time to set up the plots and resources, if you have land, if you don't, then there is no issue.

As I was not active in the past months, due to some issues, I could not prepare proper for this, but now, I'm back and probably will write every day. I like writing, even if my style is basic. I really don't care, as only by practice, can I improve and become better at it. English is not my first, not even second language, so it is also a good exercise.

There are less than 20 hours for the first Rebellion sale, so there is activity around it also. I did buy some low 4 digits pack size, just to show support to the team, as they need it now. Hopefully the management learns from the past and goes to a leaner structure, with not too many unnecessary positions.

This week, focus was to complete the CL deck, which I managed to do two days ago, and to buy some cards for land. On the 106 plots that I own, I will probably populate 10 at the start, due to the lack of DEC and cards, and build up from there. Luckily, everyday I add another card with the necessary DEC for land. So, 12 more cards will be ready for the launch.

Also, there are some interesting proposals going on, and probably will do also a DAO prepreproposal, to be discussed in discord, where the streamers shall not be paid upfront, or per stream, but based on results. A special referral link shall be allocated for each streamer, to see at least how many people are redirected to the site, and maybe every 6 months, a special streamer card can be created as a price, where a certain % from the sale goes to the streamer.

There are a lot of opportunities to drive traffic, without paying funds upfront, and with measurable results.

The proposal needs to be refined and first discussed in discord, before it sees the light of the world. Also, it needs to be kept simple, not to overload the devs, that have plenty of things to do for now.

So, back to the land release. Let's see it more than positive, as firstly, the team tested the application and found the bugs that need to be taken care of. This is a major plus.

Secondly, there is time to accumulate more needed game assets and to optimize the plots available. Like said, I won't be able to have all filled out, and will wait for land surfers to be able to work on them. This is a personal issue, where funds are allocated for the family, not a game, and this shall be common sense for everyone.

Third, land still provides SPS, keep it staked for the long run.

How do you see it?

I have some DEC for like half of it, and some cards, I focus on 7 lands first, maybe some legendary natural for grain too, if a lot of grain is needed. We will see.

You know if this was the first time they postponed land, then I could maybe understand. I get that they want to get it right, but this is at least the third time in three years that they have done this. That's plenty of time given the resources they have. Perhaps if they hadn't gotten distracted by Genesis League... I've been voting no on a lot of the proposals. $60K for a part time position seems like way too much money to me.
