A Battle That Went Down to the Last Monster — Best Strategy for Dragon Breath and Healed Out

In today's 40 mana battle, there were two excellent rulesets and both of them were quite simple. Keeping these rulesets in mind I selected my best monsters. After understanding the rulesets I created a special team combination and position them well which helped me achieve a great victory.
In this battle, I selected five monsters while my opponent selected seven monsters. The match was very competitive. At the beginning of the battle my monsters were eliminated quickly. However after the middle of the battle everything changed. My backline monsters stayed strong until the end and because of that I managed to win the battle.
First, let's understand today's two rulesets. Both of them are very simple and make team selection much easier.

The first ruleset is Rise of the Exemplars.
RISE OF THE EXEMPLARS
In this ruleset, you are allowed to summon an Exemplar monster. Normally these cards are not available in regular battles. However, if you own an Exemplar card, you can easily select it in this ruleset.
So, what are Exemplar monsters?
These are special monster cards with very powerful stats and abilities. They also have unique powers that make them different from normal monsters.
So, what should your strategy be for this ruleset?
If you have a strong Exemplar card in your deck, you should definitely select it. This is one of the biggest reasons why every player should own different types of monster cards. If I had an Exemplar card in my deck, I would definitely have selected it. Unfortunately, I do not own one, so I could not take advantage of this ruleset.
To build a strong team for this ruleset, I recommend a simple three card combination that are
- A strong tank in the first position.
- An Exemplar monster in the middle.
- A support healer behind them.

UNPROTECTED
The second ruleset was Unprotected which is one of the most popular rulesets in Splinterlands.
As the name suggests every monster starts the battle with zero Armor. During the entire battle, no monster can gain Armor from any ability or Archon.
What happens with this rulset?
- Every monster has 0 Armor.
- Repair ability has no value.
- Protect ability does not work.
- Even if your Archon normally provides Armor, it will have no effect.
Since there is no Armor every attack goes directly to the monster's Health.
Because of this, battles usually finish much faster. Both players normally try to select heavy damage dealers because every attack directly damages Health, allowing monsters to be eliminated very quickly.
So, what should your strategy be in this ruleset?
First of all, give priority to monsters with high Health. The more Health they have, the longer they can survive.
Secondly try to select strong Melee, Ranged and Magic attackers that can deal high damage every round.

Keeping both rulesets in mind, I selected an Archon that gives +1 Health to my team. This gave my monsters more survivability throughout the battle.
Right after my Archon, I selected a strong tank that could also heal itself. Then I selected a powerful Magic attacker, followed by heavy Ranged attackers.
With this balanced team combination, I entered the battle.
Unfortunately, my frontline tank was eliminated quite early. However, my backline positions performed brilliantly, especially Wilhelm Dale Deputy, who became the star of the battle.
With its two Ranged attacks every round, it continued attacking the enemy from the backline and kept eliminating enemy monsters one after another.
Its outstanding performance was the main reason I won today's battle.
What do you think about the WilhelmDale Deputy monster card? What do you know about this card? Will be glad to see your answers in the comment section.
