After a long time, I have a battle that is more than worthy of being shared in this great community of Hivers. This battle was done in the previous season, before the new update of the Glint system. And, it was probably one of the few best battles I've had in the game where I turned the tables in a losing battle.

So, without further ado, let's begin.

Battle Conditions

The mana cap is 31 and there 3 summoners to choose from: Water, Death, and Dragon. I chose Death Summoner since it would give me an edge over my opponent with the debuffs and high-speed monsters. Although, it is possible to come up with an equal or better deck with the other 2 summoners.

Battle Rules

  • Born Again- All monsters have the rebirth ability.
  • Close Range- Ranged attacks may be used in the first position.

Battle Details

Let's start from my side:

Summoner: Thaddius Brood(Ability: Decrease in HP and Magic damage by 1 for all enemy monsters).

Tank: Cursed Windeku(Ability: Thorns, Self-Heal).

Melee Attackers: Arachne Thug(Ability: Reach, Trample), Uraeus(Ability: Sneak, Poison).

Ranged Attackers: Ravenhood Warden(Ability: Protect).

Magic Attackers: Kain Hace(Ability: Blast, Reflection Shield).

Blocked Attackers: Corpse Fiend(No Ability).

My strategy was to go on a full-frontal attack while doing a little damage from the back. So, I kept Uraeus as it could poison the enemy from the back. From the front, my tank would self-heal while Kain Hace would deal damage to both the tank and the unit behind it. And finally, my Warden would protect with 2 shields. I kept a blocked-melee attacker in the back as a way to shield my Uraeus.

My overall damage is 12 per round. Adding in the damage from thorns, blast, and poison, it comes to 18 damage per round with a self-healing of 3.

Now, for the opposition.

Summoner: Helios Matriarch(Ability: Increase in speed by for all ally monsters and grants the ability to use 1 gladiator card).

Tank: Vruz(Ability: Sneak, Martyr).

Melee Attackers: Isgald Vorst(Ability: Bloodlust, Opportunity), Dhampir Infiltrator(Ability: Sneak, Double strike).

Ranged Attackers: Venari Marksrat(Ability: Martyr).

Non-Attackers: Merdaali Guardian(Ability: Tank heal).

Magic Attackers: River Hellondale(Ability: Resurrect, Inspire).

His strategy was to make his Bloodthirsty monster achieve the ultimate level of stats with which he would decimate my deck while healing it constantly with the Merdaali Guardian. He kept a monster with martyr in the front of the deck and with the battle rules, Isgald would get a stats boost twice, adding in the ability of his magic attacker, his tank would be resurrected again and thus get another boost of the stats. His Infiltrator would do cheap damage from the back while another of his monsters with a martyr effect was placed directly behind him in the hopes that the enemy to kill it and thus get yet 2 more boosts on his bloodthirsty monster.

His overall damage was 11. Adding in the ability to inspire, it comes to 16. Adding in the martyr effects, it comes to a total of 25 damage per round with healing of 2 per round.

Battle Conditions

Round 1

Screenshot (354).png

His plan worked from the get-go as his bloodthirst monster gets the first martyr effect which increased his overall damage by 1.

Screenshot (355).png

My first monster that died was my shield, Fiend.

Screenshot (356).png

His Vruz dies for a third time and that gives him a further boost for Isgald.

Screenshot (357).png

His plan worked, by keeping Marksrat in the back both Infiltrator and Isgald got the stats boost that further increased their damage to 17 per round.

Round 2

Screenshot (358).png

My tank got absolutely destroyed by his new tank as it had only 2 more HP left.

Screenshot (359).png

My Uraeus finally got its poison afflicted to his magic attacker while my tank was on the brink of collapse.

Screenshot (360).png

This time, my plan started to work which backfired on his. My Kain Hace demolished his treasured bloodthirsty beast while also eliminating his Marksrat. That way, Isgald did not receive any stats boost, only his Infiltrator did.

Round 3

Screenshot (361).png

My tank used its self-heal and had a not-so-comfortable HP while it faced the deadly tank on the opposite side. His magic got hit with the poison and had died for the first time.

Screenshot (362).png

His tank annihilates mine and triggers the bloodlust effect that increases all of his stats by 1. His overall damage comes to 20 per round and it was also the first time my tank died. Therefore, he turned the tables on me once again.

Screenshot (363).png

His magic attacker deletes my tank from the game.

Round 4

Screenshot (364).png

His tank destroys Thug's shield and thank god it had enough to keep Isgald away from the HP.

Screenshot (367).png

Finally, thanks to my kain Hace, his tank breathed its last as it and the unit behind it were killed but not before it took out my Uraeus for the second and final time. Thus, I turned the tables on him with my trump card, again.

Screenshot (368).png

And, by the end of the 4th round, all of his heavy damage dealers were dealt with while I still had my major damage dealers. His overall damage fell from 20 to 1 per round with a healing of 2.

Rounnd 5

Screenshot (369).png

His guardian fell quickly in the 5th round.

The game was over at the end of the 5th round, and my monsters triumphed.

Results

Usually, I make use of the Sha-vi and Bonesmith combo but this time I decided to take a chance and use a different strategy altogether. This little change changed the course of the battle entirely and gave me a win that was so epic that the game gave me a ton of loot from it. His strategy was OP against most decks that may oppose it but since it faced a deck that had only 1 goal, to push through from the front, it got its ultimate monster killed right after it reached its peak.
