Today, I want to share a truly remarkable gameplay that is potentially the best turnaround I've had since the last week. This is where I will show you guys where you can beat monsters with bloodthirst trait, in a game where the rules also favour them!

Without further ado let's begin.

Battle Conditions

The mana cap is 34, and 5 summoners are available: Fire, Water, Nature, Death, and Dragon. I went with the summoner with the most potential to win, Thaddius Brood.

Battle Rules:

  • Equal Opportunity: All monsters have the equal opportunity ability.

Battle Details

Let's start from my side:

Summoner: Thaddius Brood(Ability: Decrease in HP and Magic for all enem monsters).

Tank: Cursed Windeku(Ability: Thorns, Heal).

Melee Attackers: Arachne Thug(Ability: Reach, Trample), Uraeus(Ability: Sneak, Poison), Silent Sha-vi(Ability: Sneak, Cripple).
Magic Attackers: Venari Bonesmith(Ability: Leech, Poison).
Ranged Attackers: Daigendark Hunter(Ability: Sneak).

My strategy was to hit him from all sides while inflicting a poisonous status on the enemy. I wanted my tank and Thug to attack from the front while doing the tank would heal itself. I wanted my sneak attackers to break open his deck from the back while possibly doing a poison status. Finally, I wanted my Bonesmith to attack their tank and leech an HP and maybe inflict poisonous status on his tank.

The overall damage per round is 15. Adding in the damage from the thorns ability, and a potential damage from the poison status, it comes to a today of 19 damage per round with a healing of 3.

Now, the opposition's turn.

Summoner: Lobb Lowland(Ability: Decrease in speed for all enemy monsters).

Tank: Grund(Ability: Double Strike).

Ranged Attackers: Fungus Flinger(Ability: Martyr, Blind), Venari Marksrat(Ability: Martyr).
Melee/Magic Attackers: Quora Towershead(Ability: Bloodlust, Heal).
Blocked Melee Attackers: Mycelic Morphoid(Ability: Thorns).
Non Attackers: Chaos Agent(Ability: Dodge).

His strategy was to deal heavy damage from the front with his tank. Then, his bloodthirsty monster would go for any monster with the lowest HP. Since it has both magic and melee damage, it could most likely get a monster in the first turn. He kept both monsters with the martyr effect around Quora to make its stats grow through the roof. Lastly, he kept Chaos Agent at the end of the deck to make it difficult for attacks to kill it thanks to its ability, and in front of it was the Mycelic Morphoid to make it's thorn ability on the intruders.

The overall damage output per round is 13 per round. Adding in the potential damage from the thorns ability and martyr effect, it comes to an aggregate of 18 damage per round with a healing of 3.

Major Events

Round 1

Screenshot (146).png

The first to fall was his Chaos Agent.

Next, it was the Morphoid.

Screenshot (151).png

His Marksrat was the 3rd to kick the bucket. That left Quora with increased stats and hence increased the overall damage.

Round 2

Screenshot (152).png

My Hunter was the first to fall as his overall stats increased once again making it a 3 v 4.

Screenshot (154).png

His tank gets taken out as it strikes my tank and gets pricked by the thorn making it a 2 v 4.

Screenshot (155).png

His Fungus also bit the dust and thus increased his bloodthirsty monster's stats again as it comes to damage of 9 and healing of 3. But, thankfully, my Arachne Thug had the trample ability and so it did a swift damage of 3 and thus reduced his HP greatly.

Round 3

And finally, somehow, the Towershead falls as 3 of my monsters remained fully intact.

Results

The result of the battle shocked me. He was winning with his bloodlust trigger and with the ruleset favoring his actions he could've gotten more increased stats and Thug gained more damage. Thankfully, the battle ended shortly so his bloodthirsty monster could not gain its full potential as his tank got taken out by the second round. That's why by the end of the 3rd round the game was over even though he would've won hands down if the battle had continued one more round.
