Today, I want to share a battle that will turn some heads toward the art of strategy rather than renting the big bad monsters off the marketplace.

Without further ado, let's begin.

Battle Conditions

The mana cap is 38, a huge amount for your average game. There are 3 summoners to choose from: Fire, Death, and Dragon. I of course went with the Death summoner.

Battle rules:

  • Standard: No modification to the standard gameplay rules and mechanics.

Battle Details

Let's start from my side.

Summoner: Thaddius Brood(Ability: Decrease in HP and Magic damage by 1 for all enemy monsters).

Tank: Cursed Windeku(Ability: Thorns). (Level 5).

Melee Attackers: Arachne Thug(Ability: Reach, Trample), Silent Sha-vi(Ability: (Sneak, Cripple).
Ranged Attackres: Zyriel(Ability: Weapon Training, Life Leech, Divin Shield),
Non-Attackers: Riftwing(Ability: Flying, Scavenger, Backfire), Will-O-Wisp(Ability: Flying, Weaken).

My strategy was to overwhelm the opponent from the front while slowly chipping away his monsters from the back. I kept Windeku, and Arachne to deal with their tank while the ranged attackers would also do the same all while the Silent Sha-vi would try and delete monsters off his deck from the back.

My overall damage per round is 18 with a healing of 2 or 3 and an additional HP gathering by the Riftwinng's ability. Adding in the damage from the thorns ability, it comes to a total of 20 damage per round.

Now, for the opposition.

Tank: Cursed Windeku(Ability: Thorns). (Level 4).

Non-Attackers: Chaos Animator(Ability: Amplify, Void), Will-O-Wisp(Ability: Flying, Weaken), Riftwing(Ability: Flying, Scavenger, Backfire).
Magic Attacker: Skok Duskblight(Ability: Weapon Training, Fury).
Melee Attackers: Fenmoor Haunt(Ability: Sneak), Silent Sha-vi(Ability: (Sneak).

His strategy was to sustain as little damage as possible from the front while his magic attackers would cut through my tank and then to the monsters in the back. All while his Fenmoor and Sha-vi would do damage from the back.

His overall damage per round is 11. Adding in the HP gain from Riftwing's ability, it comes to +5 HP initially when all his monster would die.

Major Events

Round 1

Screenshot (92).png

The game starts at turn no. 8 as there is a huge amount of debuffs and weapon training going on. The first one to go was my Sha-vi. With one fell swoop it eliminates his Sha-vi.

Next, his tank fell thanks to my Arachne Thug.

At the end of the round, my tank regenerated 2 HP.

Round 2

Screenshot (95).png

His Fenmoor fell in the first turn of the round, and the Riftwings scavenged all the HP of the fallen.

Screenshot (96).png

Next, his Wisp bit the dust thanks to my Thug again. That allowed my monsters to regain an HP.

Later, his most prized monster Skok Duskblight died thanks to my tank.

Round 3

And at the end of the 3rd round, the battle comes to an end with his Riftwing biting the dust.

Results

I was shocked to see that someone possessed Skok Duskblight. I have been chasing this monster for quite a while and each time I hit a dead end. But, I realized that his overall damage would be cut in half thanks to my summoner trait. That's when I knew that the game was already mine before it even began.

Moreover, I noticed that his summoner level was 4 and he had a gold foil. But, his monster level was quite low even with that kinda summoner. Looking at mine, it wasn't even a challenge.
