This post is the first one that has the new Legendary card, Zyriel, the one who fell from grace. She can be summoned by both Death and Light summoners but this is not my first time using it but this was my first time using it in a Guild Brawl match and in today's post I'm going to show you guys how I used it.

Below is the major part of the battle and at the end of the post is the battle link and my opinions and thoughts on Zyriel.

Battle

The mana cap was 53 and there were 3 summoners available: Water, Death, and Dragon. I chose the most cost-effective summoner: Thaddius Brood.

The battle rules are Aimless(All monsters have the scattershot ability), Noxious Fumes(All monsters start the battle poisoned), and Up to Eleven(All monsters have the amplify effect).

My Team

Tank: Thaddius Brood(Ability: Thorns).
Attackers: Arachne Thug(Ability: Reach), Silent Sha-vi(Ability: Sneak).
Non-attackers: Riftwing(Ability: Flying, Scavenge).
Magic Casters: Magi of Chaos(No Ability).
Ranged Attackers: Zyriel(Ability: Weapons Training, Life Leech).

My strategy was simple, use the Zyriel and hope it does some damage before falling off in the 2nd round and giving my Riftwing an HP, therefore allowing it to reach the 3rd round. Have my Sha-vi and Magi of Chaos do damage from behind and hit their tank, respectively, and make sure that they survive till the 3rd round until they give me a further boost of 2 HP for my Riftwing to go till the 5th round while having the tank and Arachne Thug attack and weaken their numbers from the front.

Opponent Team

Tank: Demon Shark(Ability: Trample).
Attackers: Flying Squid(Ability: Reach), Deeplurker(Ability: Opportunity).
Ranged Attackers: Venari Marksrat(Ability: Martyr), Gobson Bomber(Ability: Recharge, Camouflage), Xenith Archer(No Ability).

A bad decision to use a monster with the "recharge" ability. I have used them in the past and they do a hefty damage but not when they are supposed to making them a drag.

Round 1

Screenshot (419).png

The summoner traits were introduced and the battle was underway. The Demon Shark went first. It deals a damage of 2 to the Windeku and suffers a damage of 3 due to the "amplify" effect combined with the Thorns ability of the Windeku. The Sha-vi eliminated the Archer in the first hit and the Riftwing scavenged an HP.

Screenshot (421).png

The first time I saw my Windeku miss his mark in a long while. Also, the speed of the Windeku is much slower than the Demon Shark hence the miss.

Screenshot (423).png

The Arachne Thug removes all the shield from the Demon Shard, and the Deeplurker gets a clean hit on the Zyriel and reduces it to it's last HP. Zyriel eliminates the Marksrat and retrieves that 1 HP. This way, the Riftwing accumulated another HP.

Round 2

Screenshot (424).png

The poison effect was in order, giving everyone a -2 HP for everyone.

Screenshot (427).png

Zyriel died and my Windeku and his Flying Squid were on their final HP. Riftwing scooped in the HP from Zyriel. Arachne Thug gets in the hit and reduced the Demon's HP to 1. The Flying Squid and the Deeplurker got a bonus on all Stats thanks to the Martyr effect.

Screenshot (433).png

The Demon Shark hit the Windeku and suffered greater damage due to the "amplify" effect stacked on the Thorns. The Flying Squid suffered the same as it stroked the Windeku and got himself the Thorns. This way, both the Flying Squid and Windeku died. The Riftwing collects all the monster's HP. How is the Demon Shark still alive? My Windeku missed his mark again.

Screenshot (430).png

The Deeplurkey went for my Arachne Thug and merely took off the shield. The Arachne Thug goes in for the kill and successfully eliminated the Shark.

Screenshot (431).png

The Silent Sha-vi deals the final blow as the Shark was on it's last HP. My Riftwing scavenged the final monster's HP.

An that's how quickly the battle ended, in only 2 rounds yet the number of turns involved was insanely huge. All this makes for a standard 4 round game if you ask me.

Overview and Thoughts On Zyriel

Zyriel has to be like those push-up bras, it doesn't have much to offer, here, in the HP department, but gives a sharp and well-suited-for-occasion kinda vibe. I still remember buying this card for 80k Dec, which was like $75. I bought 3 of them and made it a level 2 card.

Screenshot (434).png

Now, it got reduced by 53% and the current price is at $39.5 in the market.

What's worse is that Zyriel has an impossibly low speed, so when it misses some monsters that have the ability to fly or just have higher speed, then it is a GG and a confirmed L. Zyriel would miss her mark and lose out on that ability to steal HP. Overall, I would not suggest people go out and buy this card from the shop, instead, if you really want it, just buy it from the in-game market where the price is half the original price.

Screenshot (435).png

Or rent it out for a dirt cheap price. All in all, this is not the best card to buy for playing in your usual games. Personally, I'd suggest getting the Ancient Lich as it would give a guaranteed 2 HP increase with 3 damage given that the summoner gives no reduction in Magic damage. So ultimately, Zyreil was used as an HP booster and nothing more, it was a card that can be used in battles with specific rules and was totally not worth the buy.
