Weekly Battle Challenge: Shadow Snitch
Edition: Chaos Legion
Rarity: Common
Element: Death
Attack: Melee
Abilities: Reach at level 1, Affliction at level 6 and Dodge at level 10.
Monsters with the reach ability have a special place in my heart. It gives so much more value to Melee monsters who are generally restricted to the first position unless they have Sneak or Opportunity. I appreciate the addition of some Chaos Legion monsters into the weekly battle challenge as it provides the opportunity to see some new tactics that have come with the new set.

The Strategy
It was a Silver League, 13 Mana battle with Spreading Fury and Heavy Hitters. Low mana battles are always hard to judge. I think these battles are actually the most complex and it really causes you to think about every mana point you are spending.
Position | Card | Level | Reason |
---|---|---|---|
Summoner | Owster Rotwell | 2 | Magic Reflect is a very strong addition to any team. Especially when used in low mana engagements. |
Position 1 | Pelacor Deceiver | 3 | High health and high speed paired with flying to avoid damage or soak it when required. |
Position 2 | Shadow Snitch | 3 | Our star of the week with reach allowing attacks from the second position but also a viable option as second tank with decent hitpoints. |
Position 3 | Corpse Fiend | 1 | A zero mana cost with 1 melee damage but enhanced by the magic reflect from the summoner. |
Position 4 | Creeping Ooze | 1 | Providing a slow to the enemy team to boost the effects of speed and flying from our first position. |
Position 5 | Furious Chicken | 1 | Back line protection with magic reflect from the summoner. |
The Result
The battle was off to an explosive start with their backline Fallen Specter engaging our Pelacor Deceiver and dying straight away from magic reflect. The enemy Twisted Jester quickly dispatched our Creeping Ooze giving some much needed speed back to the enemy team. Shadow Snitch then reached from the depths and took out the enemy tank, Shadowy Presence.
Round 2 saw our Pelacor Deceiver take out the enemy Corpse Fiend and the Undead Priest was taken out by our Shadow Snitch.
Twisted Jester was now alone and quickly destroyed. A glorious win.
Shadow Snitch is value for mana when it comes to team composition. Reach gives him the ability to attack from the second position and increase the damage output of the team.
