Weekly Battle Challenge: Wave Runner

Let me be clear from the start. Wave Runner is card that barely ever makes my team list. This is largely because I have struggled to fit them into a often Magic heavy water deck. I will change my strategy and see where it ends up!

The Strategy
It was a Silver League, 38 Mana battle with Explosive Weaponry and Lost Magic. It was already in my best interest to not use magic cards and focus where I could on ranged and melee damage.

| Position 6 | Water Elemental | 1 | Good damage and heal provides some safety in the last position from enemy sneak/snipe. |
The Result
The Creeping Ooze global speed reduction allowed for enough attacks with explosive weaponry to destroy Divine Healer before she had a chance to have any effect. From there, it was it was a series of rapid fire attacks that even the might of Shieldbearer couldn't absorb. The extra shields and return fire allowed my side to absorb any damage and resulted in no friendly casualties. Overall, a strong victory.
Wave Runner is a situational, second position card that thrives in a lost magic game or where it can be boosted by other cards. It isn't strong enough to be employed as a tank but is definitely a powerful card when played in the right decks.
