Edition: Reward
Rarity: Common
Element: Earth
Attack: Magic
Abilities: Tank Heal at level 1 and Strengthen at level 6.

I have waited a long time for Wood Nymph to come to the battle challenge as they are one of my most used and most appreciated monsters. It is a low cost magic dealer and healer for the Earth team. They are a healer that may be thought to be replaced by Goblin Psychic with the Chaos Legion deck however there is now a great opportunity to run the double heal combo in your lineup.

The Strategy

It was a Silver League, 46 Mana battle with Reverse Speed and Rise of the Commons. I find players lean towards melee based teams with reverse speed in Bronze and Silver League. However, it was not the case in this example. Earth deck is handy in this battle ruleset because it has a few magic damage dealers that are 1 speed.

PositionCardLevelReason
SummonerMylor Crowling2Thorns ability in case we did face a few melee damaged dealers.
Position 1Mycelic Infantry1High damage, high health and armour to tank damage and hit hard with shield and low speed. Perfect for this ruleset.
Position 2Mycelic Slipspawn1A good second tank with high health that can draw damage with taunt.
Position 3Mushroom Seer1Good magic damage and silence to reduce the enemy team. Also a speed of 1 which is desirable for this ruleset.
Position 4Goblin Psychic2Good Magic damage with the tank heal and low speed.
Position 5Wood Nymph1Our star of the week. The original Earth Deck healer and magic damage makes it an amazing support.
Position 6Goblin Tower1Strong ranged backline with some armour. The added benefit of blast to tear through the enemy team.

The Result

The team started picking away at the enemy's tank, Shieldbearer, before the entire enemy team reduced our Mycelic Slipspawn to dust to end the first round.

Round 2 saw the defeat of the Shield Bearer and the enemy's second tank, Elven Defender took up the front line. Our Mushroom Seer was quickly dispatched by the enemy Lone Boatman in a powerful shot.

Round 3 started with a bang that saw Mycelic Infantry destroy the enemy Elven Defender. The enemy now have no more tanks and purely had ranged units left. Wood Nymph and Goblin Psychic offered the Mycelic Infantry some much needed healing before finishing off the enemy Mantoid.

Round 4 began with the destruction of Lone Boatman. Pelacor Arbalest and Portal Spinner were quickly dispatched to secure the victory.

Wood Nymph is a great monster that offers some magic damage to accompany a great healing ability.

Goblin Psychic, Wood Nymph and Mushroom Seer are such a solid magical core together; Nice use of Slipspawn with Thorns to pull attacks off your squishy backline

My favorite rulesets for Wood Nymph are Equalizer and Little League, but I also love a good Reverse Speed with her; Mine is level 4 though, so I have to use her with a lv. 1 Summoner in Rev. Speed

Yeah, I still think Earth remains as my favourite splinter. I'm excited to see if there will be a new Legendary summoner for Earth with the airdrops. That's a good idea keeping a level 1 Summoner for those rulesets. !PIZZA
