Do you Expect further Price drop for DEC ?
Dark Energy Crystal (DEC) is a valuable token in the game. Although this token is not part of the reward pool, the token utility has not been reduced and we have a bunch of things that can be purchased using this token in the game. I think the token utility is very important and in the case of dec, I can say that it is still one of the most used tokens in the game ecosystem. It is expected that once we have land then the value of this token will increase because the land will increase the demand for dec token in the game.
I am not sure what is going on with the DEC price as of now as it is in the decline mode. It is hard to say what will happen with its price because it's been a long time since it has not touched its expected price range which should be one thousand DEC worth one dollar. The highest price we have seen was when the dairy drop for SPS was going on but since then the value of the token has been pretty low. It has also not tested its pegged value since then and even it is hard to say when we are going to see touching that point.
The price trend for the last seven days is shown below through the snapshot of the chart whereas you can see that it is going down. The highest was 0.75 dollars and now it is 0.69 dollars which is almost a dip of 10% in the price. This is a good time to buy I believe because the price is very low but do you expect that it will go further down?
Buying 1k DEC tokens will cost you just $0.69 as of now as per the current market price and I believe this is a very low price for the token. Ultimately you are getting the discount of 31% flat on the buy but when you use the token to buy different assets in the game then its value will be the same as fixed. I mean to say if you buy a pack booster of $5 then 5000 DEC will be enough and their value will not be reduced so this way you can get assets at the discounted price and dual discounts will also apply.
I wanted to buy some DEC because I expect the value will be growing post the launch of lands but I'm trying to be greedy now. I will try to keep a close eye on the price and if it drops further then maybe some tokens I can buy but I'm not sure about the price and how it will move ahead. I am not sure how the DEC will be used in lands but I have gone through some of the discussions where people are saying that the DC will be in demand since the consumption will be higher in lands. Unfortunately, we do not have much clarity about the lands in the game however it is under development so soon we will be having it but for now we can only assume that it will increase the demand for the DEC token.
There have been some changes in the splinterlands this week in terms of restructuring and probably we are going to see more focus on the development of the land now. This has been mentioned in the announcement post that now the team will be focused on a couple of components including the SPS validator node licence and lands. They have also mentioned about rebellion packs which is going to be the next edition but I believe they will be taking some time since we already have rift watchers. The sale for riftwatchers is already on and even the packs are getting burned every day so I believe the team will surely give it enough time before they launch the sale. There has to be demand for the cards in the market before they release the pact else this might be the same situation that we have gone through with Chaos Legion or the riftwatchers.
Coming back to DEC and its price I believe this can be a good choice to buy now or maybe you can watch more closely the price because you never know if you can get an even better price in the market. The price in the market is determined by the supply and demand so when more people sell off the token then the price declines and this time it shows that a lot of people are selling their DEC holding in the market. I'm not sharing any sort of financial advice here that you should buy or not but if you are part of the game and you believe in the token economy that it will be valuable then you can surely think about it.
