A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words.

What do I see?: I can see some dry tall grasses and a house at a distance.

What do I feel?
I feel that the vegetation and/or grasses within that area have been affected by man's waring activities.

Far away from Kenny's house is his garden where he usually plant arable crops and vegetables. However, for the past six months or thereabout, Kenny has not stepped into this farm for obvious reasons. First, the guerrilla fighters camped near the farm. This has made him to be keeping indoors and thus neglecting the farm which was then overun by weeds.

Secondly, he does not want to be killed by any stay bullet or missiles. Severally, the government forces have fired cannisters aimed at the guerrilla fighters with most of them landing in his farm. It was the last assault by the government forces that left every vegetation brownish and dry. They fired a chemical which dried up all living plants so as to remove any traces of hideouts by the guerrilla fighters. And in reaction, the guerilla fighters retreated backwards for better cover.

Even at that, Kenny still does not want to go close to his farm. It has become a war zone, sadly. Even in his house, he does not feel safe too. The heavily polluted air also affects him. But he cannot run away both from his home and farm at the same time.
