Larry Is Alive 20 June 2024: I Am Alive Challenge

Hello everyone and warm welcome to my Larry hunt for tuesday, the 20th day of June, 2024. The UEFA European Championship continued today with matches in group A with Germany playing against Hungary. Jamal Musiala scored again as Germany continued their winning streak at Euro 2024, defeating Hungary (2-0) to become the first team to reach the knockout stages.

In the second match of the day at Cologne Stadium, Scotland broke free from the shackles of injury and self-destruction to secure a crucial point against Switzerland, keeping their Euro 2024 campaign alive. The game ended (1-1).

From the world of auto racing, Larry goes to England. He finds out that on this day in 1861, Frederick Gowland Hopkins, a British scientist who shared the 1929 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his discovery of vitamins, was born in Eastbourne, East Sussex.

From England, Larry goes to the world of music and entertainment. He finds out that on this day in 1949, Lionel Richie, an American popular singer, songwriter, and producer best known for his smooth and soulful love ballads from the 1970s and 1980s was born in Tuskegee, Alabama, U.S.A.

From the world of music and entertainment, Larry goes to France. He finds out that on this day in 1815, Jean-Marie Le Pen, a French nationalist who created and led the National Front political party (1972–2011), which functioned as the dominant right-wing opposition to the country's mainstream conservative parties from the 1970s to the early 21st century was born in La Trinité, France.

Finally, Larry rounds off his look at today in #history from England. He finds out that on this day in 1837, Victoria becomes queen of the United Kingdom after William IV dies, and the country becomes the world's most powerful empire under her reign.

Having seen all these pieces of historical events, Larry zooms off to begin his daily deliveries.
