Larry Is Alive 21 June, 2024: I Am Alive Challenge

Hello everyone and warm welcome to my Larry hunt for friday, the 21st day of June, 2024. The UEFA European Championship continued today with matches in group B Spain playing against defending champions Italy. The Spaniards qualified for the final 16 of Euro 2024 with a thrilling performance against defending champions Italy in Gelsenkirchen. Spain won the explosive encounter with a lone goal.

In the other matches of the day, Luka Jovic scored in the 95th minute to give Serbia a last-gasp draw against Slovenia at Euro 2024. The Serbia vs Slovenia game ended (1-1).

Similarly, England squandered the opportunity to go to the Euro 2024 knockout stages as Group C winners, only managing a draw (1-1) against Denmark in Frankfurt.

Larry then veers off to have a look at today in #history.

Larry begins his look at today in history from the events of WWII. He finds out that on this day in 1945 marked the end of Japanese resistance in Okinawa, less than three months after US troops arrived there as the final stepping stone before the planned attack on Japan's main islands in World War II.

From the events of WWII, Larry goes to Greenland. He finds out that n this day in 2009, Greenland became self-governing when an enlarged home-rule agreement with Denmark went into force.

She was Pakistan's prime minister for two terms, from 1988 to 1990 and 1993 to 1996.

Finally, Larry rounds off his look at today in #history from France.
