Larry Is Alive April 06, 2024: I Am Alive Challenge

Hello everyone and warm welcome to my Larry hunt for saturday, the 6th day of April, 2024. The EPL continued this weekend with title chasers Arsenal playing away to Brighton whom they humbled (0-3) away to remain at the top and in full contention for thr coveted trophy. Meanwhile, champions, Manchester City brushed aside crystal Palace (2-4) at at Selhurst Park to keep up their title dreams alive.

Larry then veers off to have a look at today in #history.

Larry begins his look at today in history from the world of Olympics. He finds out that on this day in 1896, Pierre, baron de Coubertin, the International Olympic Committee's founder and president from 1896 to 1925, achieved his goal of restoring the Olympics when the first modern Games began in Athens on this day in 1896.

From the world of olympics, Larry goes to Italy. He finds out that on this day in 2009, an earthquake struck near L'Aquila, Italy, causing widespread damage and killing over 300 people.

From Italy, Larry goes to the world of basketball. He finds out that on this day in 2009, Michael Jordan, largely regarded as the best all-around player in basketball history, was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

From the world of basketball, Larry goes to the world of music and entertainment. He finds out that on this day in 1974, ABBA, a Swedish Europop group had their international breakthrough when they won the top prize at the Eurovision Song Contest with Waterloo.

From the world of music and entertainment, Larry goes to the world of religion. He finds out that on this day in 1830, American prophet Joseph Smith founded the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Fayette, New York.

Finally, Larry rounds off his look at today in #history from the events of WWI. He finds out that on this day in 1917, three years after World War I began, the United States declared war on Germany, thereby entering the battle.

Having seen all these pieces of historical events, Larry zooms off to begin his daily deliveries.
