Larry Is Alive February 05, 2024: I Am Alive Challenge

Hello everyone and warm welcome to my Larry hunt for monday the 5th day of February, 2024. Egypt has relieved coach Rui Vitoria of his duties as head coach of the Pharaohs of Egypt national team following a disappointing Africa Cup of Nations campaign. Egypt crashed out at the round of 16 when they were defeated on penalties by Congo DR after a 1-1 draw on Jan. 28.

Larry then veers off to have a look at today in #history.

Larry begins his look at today in history from the USA. He finds out that on this day in 2020, President Donald Trump was acquitted by the Senate after being impeached by the House of Representatives for his role in the Ukraine controversy.

From the USA, Larry goes to Mexico. He finds out that on this day in 1917, Mexico adopted its present constitution.

From Mexico, Larry goes to Portugal. He finds out that on this day in 1985, Cristiano Ronaldo, a Portuguese football (soccer) striker who was one of the best players of his generation, was born in Funchal, Madeira, Portugal.

From Portugal, Larry goes to Pakistan. He finds out that on this day in 1943, Pervez Musharraf, a Pakistani military officer who seized power in a coup in 1999 was born in New Delhi, India. Pervez Musharraf served as Pakistan's president from 2001 to 2008.

From Pakistan, Larry goes to Togo. He finds out that on this day in 2005, Gnassingbé Eyadéma, a Togolese soldier who became President of Togo after a military takeover in January 1967, died en route from Togo to France.

Finally, Larry rounds off his look at today in #history from the UN. He finds out that on this day in 2003, Colin Powell, the United States Secretary of State, testified before the United Nations Security Council that Iraq held prohibited weapons of mass destruction and presented an immediate threat.

Having seen all these pieces of historical events, Larry zooms off to begin his daily deliveries.
