Larry Is Alive March 06, 2024: I Am Alive Challenge

Hello everyone and warm welcome to my Larry hunt for wednesday, the 6th day of March, 2024. The UEFA champions league round of 16, second continues today. Two matches are ongoing. Manchester City vs FC Copenhagen and Real Madrid vs RB Leipzig.

Man City are already (3-1) up against FC Copenhagen at the Etihad staduim while Madrid is playing goalless (0-0) with RB Leipzig. Let's see how those two games will end at the final whistle.

Larry then veers off to have a look at today in #history.

Larry begins his look at today in history from Russia. He finds out that on this day in 1869, Dmitri Mendeleev, a Russian chemist, presented the first periodic table at the Russian Chemical Society meeting.

From Russia, Larry goes to Germany. He finds out that on this day in 1899, Bayer, a German pharmaceutical company, trademarked the name Aspirin for its acetylsalicylic acid-based medication.

From Germany, Larry goes to Ghana. He finds out that on this day in 1957, Ghana became an independent country, led by Prime Minister Kwame Nkrumah.

From Ghana, Larry goes to the USA. He finds out that on this day in 1957, Cassius Clay, an American boxer, adopted the name Muhammad Ali when his spiritual master, Elijah Muhammad, head of the Nation of Islam, gave it to him.

From the USA, Larry goes back to Russia. He finds out that on this day in 1937, Valentina Tereshkova, a Soviet cosmonaut and the first woman to journey into space was born in Maslennikovo, Russia, U.S.S.R.

Finally, Larry rounds off his look at today in #history from Egypt. He finds out that on this day in 1924, the Egyptian authorities unsealed the mummy case of King Tutankhamen, Egypt's king in the 14th century BC, whose burial chamber had been found in 1922 by renowned British archaeologist Howard Carter.

Having seen all these pieces of historical events, Larry zooms off to begin his daily deliveries.
