Larry Is Alive March 07, 2024: I Am Alive Challenge

Hello everyone and warm welcome to my Larry hunt for thursday, the 7th day of March, 2024. The UEFA Europa league round of 16 take centre stage tonight. Liverpool defeated Sparta Prague (1-5) away while Roma beat Brighton (4-0) in Rome to make the second leg a light walk.

Currently, A.C Milan vs Salvia Prague is (0-0) and Freiburg vs West Ham is also (0-0). Let's see how those two games will end at the final whistle.

Larry begins his look at today in history from the world of boxing. He finds out that on this day in 1987, Mike Tyson, an American boxer, became the youngest heavyweight to win the World Boxing Association (WBA) title belt by defeating James Smith in 12 rounds.

From the world of boxing, Larry goes to the world of patents and inventions. He finds out that on this day in 1876, Alexander Graham Bell obtained a patent for the telephone.

From the world of patents and inventions, Larry goes to the USA. He finds out that on this day in 1644, Massachusetts became the first state in North America to create a bicameral legislature.

From the USA, Larry goes to Italy. He finds out that on this day in 1274, St. Thomas Aquinas, an Italian Dominican theologian and the finest mediaeval Scholastic died in Fossanova, near Terracina, Latium, Papal States.

From Italy, Larry goes to Czechoslovakia. He finds out that on this day in 1937, Tomáš Masaryk, chief founder and first president (1918–35) of Czechoslovakia was born near Göding, Moravia, Austrian Empire [now Hodonín, Czech Republic].

Finally, Larry rounds off his look at today in #history from England. He finds out that on this day in 1944, Sir Ranulph Fiennes, a British adventurer, pioneering polar explorer, and writer who, among other accomplishments, led the world's first north-south surface circumnavigation (following a meridian) from 1979 to 1982, was born in Windsor, Berkshire, England.

Having seen all these pieces of historical events, Larry zooms off to begin his daily deliveries.
