Larry begins his look at today in history from Australia. He finds out that on this day in 2003, Malcolm Fraser, Australia's Prime Minister from 1975 to 1983, died at the age of 84 in

From Australia, Larry goes to the world of epidermis. He finds out that on this day in 1987, AZT (azidothymidine; commonly known as zidovudine) became the first drug licenced by the US Food and drugs Administration for the treatment of AIDS.

From the world of epidermis, Larry goes to the world of physics. He finds out that on this day in 1727, Sir Isaac Newton, whose Principia (1687) was one of the most important single works in the history of modern science and the pinnacle of the 17th-century Scientific Revolution, died in London.

From the world of physics, Larry goes to Japan. He finds out that on this day in 1995, top leaders of Asahara Shoko's Japanese Buddhist sect, AUM Shinrikyo (Japanese: "AUM Supreme Truth"), unleashed nerve gas into a Tokyo underground, killing 12 people and wounding hundreds.

From Japan, Larry goes to Canada. He finds out that on this day in 1879, Maud Leonora Menten, a Canadian biochemist and organic chemist, is best recognised for her research on enzyme kinetics was born in Port Lambton, Ontario, Canada.

Finally, Larry rounds off his look at today in #history from the world of music and entertainment. He finds out that on this day in 2020, Kenny Rogers, an American country music artist known for classics such as Lady and The Gambler, died at the age of 81 in Sandy Springs, Georgia.
