Larry Is Alive March 30, 2024: I Am Alive Challenge

Hello everyone and warm welcome to my Larry hunt for Saturday, the 30th day of March, 2024. We have just a day to say goodbye to March. What a beautiful month it has been for crypto adherents....the surge in crypto value a.k.a the bull run. Today is also the eve of Easter. Happy Easter to all the Christian faithfuls too

The EPL is also back after the international break. In one of the matches played at St James' Park, Newcastle United defeated West Ham United (4-3) in a seven goal thriller. Tottenham Hotspur however survived an early shock as they came from a goal down to beat Luton Town (2-1) and moved into the top four on the table.

Manchester United plays away to Brentford by 20:00 GMT. I do hope they win too.

Larry then veers off to have a look at today in #history.

Larry begins his look at today in history from the world of inventions. He finds out that on this day in 1858, Hyman L. Lipman of Philadelphia was granted a U.S. patent for a pencil with an attached eraser.

From the world of inventions, Larry goes to the USA . He finds out that on this day in 1998, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved Pfizer's drug Viagra for the treatment of erectile dysfunction.

From in the USA, Larry finds out that on this day in 1867, William H. Seward, secretary of state under U.S. President Andrew Johnson, signed the Alaska Purchase, a pact that ceded Russian North America to the United States for $7.2 million, or approximately two cents per acre.

From the USA, Larry goes to Morocco. He finds out that on this day in 1912, the Treaty of Fès established a French protectorate in Morocco.

From Morocco, Larry goes to the world of music and entertainment. He finds out that on this day in 1968, Céline Dion, a French Canadian pop singer recognised for her powerful vocals and passionate stage presence, was born.

Celine Dion was indeed the race of the moment in the early 2000s. One of my favourites in her collection is "A New Day Has Come". Sit back and enjoy the clip

Finally, Larry rounds off his look at today in #history from the USA. He finds out that on this day in 1981, just two months after Ronald Reagan took office as the 40th president of the United States, he was shot and seriously injured in Washington, D.C. by would-be assassin John W. Hinckley, Jr.

Having seen all these pieces of historical events, Larry zooms off to begin his daily deliveries.
