Since it's a card based game, it allows players play as fast as possible as you can set your formation, play against your opponent and skip to the end of the game almost immediately to generate the result for the match. This seems really simple but it's not in the real sense as it requires players to be very tactical and have in depth understanding of the ruleset as well as the summoner and monster to use in each battle.

in your formation in a match, you are to select your summoner first before you go ahead to select your monsters up to 6.

GETTING STARTED

In other to get started, you need to first create an account with this Referral Link after that is done, you need to then do the following:

  • Get the SpellBook
  • Buy some DEC tokens
  • Buy Cards or Rent some
  • Get familiar with the gameplay
  • Buy SPS
  • Join a Guild
  • Have fun while playing

Get the SpellBook: After account creation, the next step is to get the SpellBook which cost $10 non refundable, this is like your passport Into the splinterlands gaming world.

Buy some DEC tokens: after this is done, you can head to hive-engine and get some DEC tokens, you will be needing this Dec tokens to do some in-game purchase through your gaming journey as you progress.

Buy Cards or Rent some: Before you can play the game, you'd need to have Both Summoners and Monsters, they are the ones that'd aid the winning process of a battle coupled with the players formation and level of understanding of the game. In other to do this, you'd go to PeakMonster and select the cards you will like to either rent or buy. You can choose to buy packs and who knows you might be lucky to get some amazing cards in the pack. You can enter some contests too in other to win cards such as rebellion cards. One of such contests is X Contest for a Chance to Win Rebellion Packs

Get familiar with the gameplay: Once you have the cards and you know the formations you'd likely be using, for instance, someone that loves to play the magic role will buy more of magic cards and be using the obsidian summoner , once all that is in place, you can watch tutorials of the game on YouTube, and also read the how to play section of the game. After understanding the basics and what to do and what not, the next approach would be to go back to the home page and click on the "Battle" button to play your very first game. in other to understand the monsters and their ability you can check here

Once you click on the battle icon, you will see the ruleset of the game and also see the last 5 battles of your opponent.

You can quickly glance through to have idea of what your opponent play like in other to be able to prepare adequately for your match against them.

Buy SPS: The reason for this is basically so you will be able to increase your multiplier in terms of rewards.

Join a Guild: The importance of a guild can never be over emphasized, you need this in other to get perks to help in the battle

The game very interesting and addictive, you can read this My First Battle to understand better how the game runs and the strategy I used in securing a win in the match.

We need to interact and engage well as a newbie and also join communities to have a better understanding and also be able to fit into the game and mingle well. you should join the discord group and interact there.

at the beginning, it was not really easy as it seems really tasking and as such almost gave up, but i pushed further and i can tell you that not giving up pays off on the long run.
