Every average player in Splinterlands especially in Bronze and Silver League knows Alric Stormbringer and his devastating magic power as water splinter summoner. This summoner is mostly used by novice, bronze or even silver league players. His ability enhances all the magic attack of your monster by 1 which could really be lethal especially in tanks without magic resistance or magic reflect. This is because magic ignores armor and it wont miss its attack unless it is countered by an ability phase which has a chance to dodge magic attack. Nevertheless, the might of this magic attack is so powerful in this league even using only starter monsters and what is good about this is Alric Stormbringer is just free.

The most common lineup for this starter water splinter deck are the summoner Alric Stormbringer and his mages Medusa, Ice Pixie, Enchanted Pixie and Elven Mystic. Paired with a good sustainable tank and right positioning of water elemental which could heal himself and can absorb sneak and snipe attacks depending on its positioning.

In this article, I'll guide you how to prepare your self and your deck for high probability of winning when facing opponents who are likely to use the Water Magic Attack with just spending a little amount of your DEC or Credits for renting only one summoner. It is no other than the Death Summoner Owster Rotwell with his Magic Reflect Ability.

This summoner is the Anti-Mage of Splinterlands who could "sigh" Water Magic Splinter user because all Owster friendly monsters will receive the magic reflect ability, even the 0 mana cost furious chicken that could take down enchanted pixie or ice pixie when he is attacked because the two mages only has 1 hp. If this is the summoner you will be using against the water magic monsters, you will win most of the time. Just put a good tank in front and victory will follow.

Another piece of advice is to make sure to scan your opponnent 5 last matches because this is very important because if most of your opponent fights uses Alric Stormbringer as the summoner, then immediately use Owster as your summoner and paired with high HP tank or has good magic resistance and claim that victory. Downside is if you'll end up with other summoner and has melee or ranged attack lineup then his ability will be useless. So scanning is very important so you can use the right summoner to achieve that victory.

You can also counter water magic with just using starting deck by using the Magic Counter Dou, Unicorn Mustang and Failed Summoner. Unicorn Mustang with its Void ability which reduced damage from magic attacks and Failed Summoner which has Magic Reflect Ability that Reflects Magic attack.
