Hello guys!

Yeeeeey I'm back again with my Splinterlands post. I'm writing this post to follow Splinterlands Mage Secrets Battle Challenge, Broken Arrows. This is my first Splinterland post in this week, and I hop this battle will entertained you more.

Well, I'm neither a proplayer nor a tournament hero. I just enjoys sharing strategy and battles that I find interesting in my own view. I played on wild battles on Gold leagues with my scholarship account with ign NIGHTMAREINBONE, and maybe the battle strategies I'd share weren't suitable to apply in other leagues because the differences in ability that open up are different from each league.

Ok guys, without further ado, let's get straight to the main of this post!

BATTLE PREPARATION

Challenge Rules

RULESET: BROKEN ARROWS

Description:
Units with ranged attacks cannot be used.

Units with 2 types of attack (which include ranged) cannot be used.

Consider utilizing units with Thorns or Magic Reflect, as your opponent will have to use either melee or magic units.

Battle Rulesets

rulesets.png

The rulesets in this battle are:

  • Odd Ones Out (Only Monsters with odd mana cost may be used in the battle)
  • Equalizer (The initial Health of all monsters is equal to that of of the monsters on either team with the highest base team health)
  • Broken Arrows (Ranged attack Monstrs may not be used in battles)
  • Mana Capacity 48
  • Active Element Fire, Earth, and Life.

Line Up and Strategy

From the summary of the rulesets above, where only odd monsters can be used, and the range of monsters cannot be used, then I can conclude that the monsters that can be used in this battle are very limited. because there are Equalizer rulesets so monsters with small HP can also be used well. Therefore, I devised a strategy

  • Using Grandmaster Rathe to anticipate magic attacks.
As much as possible use tanks with large armor even though they only have small HP.
  • Use Heal, Repair, or Resurrect monsters to support tanks.
  • Not only focusing on one attack damage, but it combines Melee and Magic.

So I put together a line-up like the table below.

MonsterPositionAbilitiesStrategy
Grandmaster RatheSummoner+1 Armor. Void Armor, AmplifySo I put together a line-up like the table below.
Uriel the PurifierFirstFlying, Recharge, HealI think Uriel the Purifier is the most ideal tank for these rulesets. This monster has a lot of armor and also Flying and Heal abilities to support defense. This monster also has a large HP, but in the Equalizer rulesets this doesn't really matter. Even though as an attacker, this monster becomes a tricky monster because of its Recharge ability where the attack is not in every round, but still has the possibility of missing it. So I placed this monster purely as a tank to protect the monsters behind it.
UraeusSecondSneak, PoisonI chose Uraeus in the second posiis, This is different from the custom in normal rulesets, where I usually put this mosnter behind. Nmaun because this is a battle equalizer, so monste rini's HP will also rise according to the highest HP. Therefore, I don't think it's a problem to put this monster in second place.
Stitch LeechThirdSneak, Life LeechIn third place, I put the second monster sneak. Together with Uraeus, this monster will target the opponent's mustard at the last point. Smama like Uraeus, I also put this monster in the second position as well as a tank to protect the monster behind it. Well, actually the target of separate attacks like this I never admit to doing in Equalizer battle because I don't think it's effective, but because in this battle the monsters that can be used are really limited, so I also use sneak monsters.
Djinn RenovaFourthStrengthen, TriageDjinn Renova becomes a support as well as the main attacker in this battle. Djinn Renova has 3 magic attack damage as a good attacker, and also a Strengthen ability that will increase the HP of all friendly monsters, as well as a Triage ability that will support taunt monsters that become second tanks.
Adelade BrightwingFifthFlying, Repair, Resurrect, ImmunityIf you follow my previous posts, you will surely realize that Adelade Brightwing iu for me is very important in the line-up because it is the main support. Repair ability will restore the armor of comrade monsters. When combined with Grandmaster Rathe, of course this is a good thing because Grandmaster Rathe also gives +1 Armor.
IziarLastTaunt, VoidIziar is a Soulbound monster who is a Taunt monster with a Void. I like to use this monster even though what I have is still low level because I think this monster when combined with triage monsters will be very effective to dispel rain. This monster will be the first monster to die in this battle.

You can see the line-ups of both teams from the picture below. Opponents use Fire elements with Summoner Tarsa which increases melee damage. This is contrary to my initial prediction.

Grum Flameblade with the abilities Bloodlust, Void Armor and Void became the opponent's main tank. In the second posiis there is Junker who has Reach and Repair abilities. It seems that in addition to being an attacker, this monster is also a support. The third and fourth positions are magic monsters that have 3 magic attack damage, that is Djiin Apprentice and Djinn Inferni. I think this is the opponent's main attacker. and in fifth and final place there are Sneak monster, Tenyii Striker and Uraeus.

After all the monsters got buffs and debuffs from all monsters and summoners, I felt pessimistic about winning this battle, considering the amount of damage I had was far inferior to the opponent's. But who would have thought that I could win this battle.
