Hello Guys!

It's not too long ago I just posted The Annoying Battle Against ALMO CAMBIO to take part in the Splinterlands Social Media Challenge, and I've been back again with my Splinterlands post, and the purpose of this post is to follow Splinterlands Share Your Battle Weekly Challenge.

Dax Paragon is the theme for this week. Chaos Legion Epic Monster which has 2 mana and is a favorite of many players for low mana battle. I'm happy to share my battle strategy using this monster, and you know this battle I'm sharing is quite interesting to me because it's the first time I've seen the Last stand of Tinderlock, The Riftwatchers Fire monster.

Well, I'm neither a proplayer nor a tournament hero. I just enjoys sharing strategy and battles that I find interesting in my own view. I played on modern battles on Diamond leagues, and maybe the battle strategies I'd share weren't suitable to apply in other leagues because the differences in ability that open up are different from each league.

DAX PARAGON

This lore from Dax I find very interesting,

Dax knew nothing but a life of luxury since the time he was born. Growing up in a mansion overflowing with the finest of items, his wealthy parents were business and landowners that dominated the competition in the city of Lyveria. Their business was called Paragon Enterprises. An only child, Dax was often left to his own devices as his parents ran their enterprise. Often it felt like the entire mansion was his to do with as he pleased.

When he became old enough, Dax was given his large inheritance to begin his own sect of his family's business, which he called Dax's Consultations. He would be called upon by the wealthy, the greedy, and the powerful to consult for them. He would analyze their business practices, their competition, and provide advice. He became renowned for his success, and was thought of as the “secret ingredient” to any tycoon's business. And because of this, Dax soon became immersed in a world of spoils. He lived a fast life of luxury, of gold, and of stabbing anyone in the back that tried to cross him. Often literally.

When the Chaos Legion turned their eye on Dax, he looked right back and was intrigued. He saw new power that he hadn't yet known. He communicated with their intermediaries until the day the Chaos Legion invaded the Splinterlands. Dax was then graced with an audience before Silus of the Rift himself. During this conversation, Dax proved himself well-informed, cunning, and ambitious. He was given the opportunity to be an advisor for the most powerful person he'd ever come across. Dax now serves closely at Silus' side, advising him on strategies to control the Splinterlands.

stats.png

Dax Paragon is a Chaos Legion Epic monster that has 2 mana. Unlike the average Epic other monsters that have had abilities since level 1, Dax Paragon only has abilities at level 2, namely Amplify and the addition of another ability at level 5. Although at level 1 tidal has abilities, the stats of Dax Paragon, which is only 2 mana is quite good, has 1 magic attack, speed 2 from level 1 to max level, and HP 3 which increases to 5 at level 4. I think the addition of stats from this monster level increase is pretty good.

Dax Paragon is a favorite of many players, no wonder we often see this monster in low mana and middle mana battles. Not infrequently we see the amplify Dax Paragon combo already active with Pelacor Conjurer which is also Reflect Magic is active. Well, there are so many battle strategies that can be applied with this monster.

STRATEGY BATTLE

photo_2023-02-12_09-56-08.jpg

The rulesets

  • Keep Your Distance (Monster with Melee attack may not be used in battles)
  • What Doesn't Kill You (All Monsters have tea Enrage ability)
  • Fog Of War (All Monster lose The Sneak, Snipe and Opportunity abilities.)
  • Mana Capacity 25
  • Element Actives Fire, Earth and Life.

Line-Up and Srategy

As per the rulesets above, I chose to use the deck of the Life element. Both Earth and Life actually have a lot of monsters for Keep Your Distance rulesets, but because of the limited mana capacity which is only 25, and I don't have a small strong mana tank on earth elements, so the combination of Grandmaster Rathe and Pelacor Conjurer as tanks and some supporting monsters became my choice. I will explain one by one the monsters I chose along with the strategy.

MonsterPositionAbilitiesStrategy
photo_2023-02-12_09-55-41.jpg Grandmaster RatheSummoner+1 Armor, Void Armor, AmplifyLegendary Summoner is what I think is the most suitable for these rulesets because it provides buffs that strengthen defenses from both Magic and Range attacks. All monsters will get Void Armor and an additional 1 Armor, of course this is very good for anticipating magic attacks.
photo_2023-02-12_09-55-41 (2).jpg Pelacor ConjurerTankFlying, Reflect Magic, Devine Shield, PhaseI think Pelacor Conjurer is the lowest where the tank is the most powerful at the moment, because it has the ability to fly, phase, as well as high speed. So this monster will be quite difficult to hit. Even though it has 2 mana and has no attack, but the HP of this monster is quite large so it is very suitable to be used as a Tank for low mana battle or during battles on the Keep Your Distance rulesets.
photo_2023-02-12_09-55-41 (3).jpg Dax ParagonSecond Tank, AttackerAmplify, AfflictionDax Paragon I put in second place as a second tank and also an attacker. Even though it only has 1 magic attack, but with mana 2 and 5 HP I think it is quite useful for low mana battle. The amplify ability is useless because all monsters have received buffs from the Summoner, but Affliction will be useful. If the Affliction hits the Target, eating the target will no longer be able to heal.
photo_2023-02-12_09-55-41 (4).jpg Adelade BrightwingAttacker, SupportFlying, Repair, Resurrect, Immunity, SwiftnessAdelade Brightwing does have quite a lot of mana, but I think it would be very useful if combined with Grandmaster Rathe because it has Repair Ability. In addition, Adelade Brightwing will resurrect the first dead Monster, which in this formation is the Pelacor Conjurer. Swiftness ability also provides increased speed for all monster friends, and this will make Pelacor Conjuer even more difficult to hit, especially if the Enrage ability obtained from rulesets has also been activated.
photo_2023-02-12_09-55-41 (5).jpgDoctor BlightMain AttackerAffliction, Camouflage, Poison, ScavengerDoctor Blight, the best monster for low mana battle. This is because of the ability possessed by Doctor Blight, Affliction makes the target unable to heal, the same as the ability possessed by Dax Paragon. Even though it only has 2 magic attacks, the poison that hits the target will reduce the target's HP by 2 HP in each round, and also the Scavenger ability that increases the HP of this monster increases if there are other monsters that die.
photo_2023-02-12_09-55-40.jpgVenari ChrystalsmithAttcaker, SupportThank Heal, DispellVenary Chrystalsmith is the only Range monster in my formation, so I put it in the latest position because Range monsters can only attack if not in the first position. This monster as an attacker has 3 attack ranges, and as a support because it has Thank Heal and Dispell abilities. Thank Heal will setrore HP from Pelacor Conjurer as a tank in the first position, and dispell will repel all positive influences of buffs from other monsters and summoners.

You can see the line-ups of the two teams from the pictures below. Wow, didn't expect my opponent to be my friend @nanaprytn who used the Fire element for this battle. He uses Summoner Qid Yuff who has the ability Pierching, with 2 non attack monsters and 3 Range Monsters.

lineup.png
Venari Heatsmith became a tank in the first position, and Chaos agent who had the abilities Dodge and Phase in the second position. Third Place is Molten Ash Golem which has Close Range and Weaken capabilities. I think this Monster is an Attacker as well as a tank, because it has a fairly high HP. In the fourth position, there is a Goblin Fireballer who has the Snare ability, and in the last position there is a very strong main attacker, Tinderlock. Tinderlock has Last Stand, Close Range, and Silence abilities that reduce magic attacks from all opposing monsters.

It seems that the opponent used the rulesets in this battle to make Tinderlock's Last Stand as the determinant of his victory. How strong is Last Stand from Tinderlock? Let's swap to Battlefield Arena!

LET'S JUMP TO BATTLEFIELD!

(Click the image above to direct the battle replay)

This battle runs quite quickly, it only takes 6 rounds until this battle is over, and each round also runs quickly. To be honest this is beyond my expectation that the opponent uses a full range attack. It's quite interesting because this is the first time I've seen the Last stand from Tinderlock. Although I won this battle in the end, it was not Dax Paragon who was the main actor, but the combo of Pelacor Conjurer, Adelade Brighwing, and Venary Chrystalsmith was the decisive victory.

Round 1-2

ezgif.com-video-to-gif.gif

Like biaa, the first round begins with the giving of buffs and debuffs from all Summoners and monsters. Venari Chrystalsmith became the first monster to get a chance to attack, followed by Dax Paragon. In this first round, Tinderlock's attack missed hitting Pelacor Conjurer, and Snare from Goblin Fireballer hit Pelacor Conjurer directly. Nenari Heatsmith died late in the first round, and Pelacor Conjurer's Enrage also ended up active after an attack from Molten Ash Golem.

Early in the second round, Chaos Agent died due to Venari Chrystalsmith's attack and HP Pelacor Conjurer also returned max due to restore by Thank Heal ability. Tinderlock's attack missed again, haha maybe if Tinderlock could speak for sure he would issue an expletive to Pelacor Conjurer.

Round 3-4

ezgif.com-video-to-gif (1).gif

The third round started with the Molten Ash Golem being hit by poison due to Doctor Blight's attack in the previous round. The Molten Ash Golem eventually dies after being attacked by Venary Chrystalsmith and Dax Paragon. The opposing attacker was only Tinderlock left, which eventually hit Pelacor Conjurer.

Last Stand Tinderlock finally became active in the fourth round after the Goblin Fireballer died from Venari Chrystalsmith's attack. Wow, Tinderlock now has 5 attack ranges equipped with Piercing. After Enrage is also active, Tinderlock now has a speed of 8. GG Tinderlock 👏👏👏

Round 5-End

ezgif.com-video-to-gif (2).gif
The fifth round started with Pelacor Conjurer dying from a Tinderlock attack, but was then resurrected again by Adelade Brightwing. After that HP Pelacor Conjurer was also restored by Venari Chrystalsmith. Tindelock gets barrage attacks from all my monsters, and poison from Doctor Blight also hits the target.

In the final round, a Tinderlock seranan missed the Pelacor Conjurer. In the end Last Stand Tinterlock died and I won with a complete formation. You can see the final result of this battle in the image below.

STRATEGY DISCUSSION

The strategy I applied worked very effectively in this battle, even though the opponent's attack was full with a range attack. I won without losing a single monster. All the monsters in my formation showed performance that matched what I expected. Dax Paragon, which is the theme of the battle challenge, also did not disappoint.

Some suitable strategies for using Dax Paragon include:

  • Low and middle mana battle
  • Not a battle with Reflect Magic rulesets.
  • Battle on equalizer rulesets, because it has an Affliction ability that prevents the target from getting Heal.
  • Which one is small and has a decent HP, Dax Paragon can also still be used for Noxious Fumes Rulesets.
  • Amplify ability can be combined with monsters that have the ability Reflect magic, Return Fire, or Thorn.
