Hello guys!

Yeeeeey I'm back again with my Splinterlands post. This is my second post to follow Splinterlands Mage Secrets Battle Challenge with theme Earthquake.

Guys, like I said before, You are very lucky if you have the summoner Brighton Bloom who gives the Flying ability buff to all monsters. But if you don't have this summoner, You just need to use monsters with Flying abilities to avoid Earthquakes. And in this post I will share the battle strategy that I use using my Scholarship account with IGN NIGHTMAREINBONE who plays in the Gold league.

Well, I'm neither a proplayer nor a tournament hero. I just enjoys sharing strategy and battles that I find interesting in my own view. I played on modern and wild battles on Gold leagues, and maybe the battle strategies I'd share weren't suitable to apply in other leagues because the differences in ability that open up are different from each league.

Ok guys, without further ado, let's get straight to the main point of this post!

BATTLE PREPARATION

Challenge Rules

RULESET: Earthquake

Description:
All non-flying units take 2 physical damage at the end of every turn.

Snared units are considered non-flying. Since the damage given is physical, it can be reduced to 1 if the unit has the shield ability.

The rulesets in this battle are:

  • Up to Eleven (All Monsters have the Amplify ability)
  • Earthquake (Non-flying Monsters take 2 Melee damage at the end of each round)
  • Mana Capacity 30
  • Active Element Fire, Water, Life, Death and Dragon.

Line Up and Strategy

It's no secret that Dragon elements have many monsters with Flying abilities. Whether you play in the Modern or Wild leagues, each edition will release several Dragon monsters with Flying abilities. Therefore, I think using the Summoner of Dragon elemet is the best choice. And among the elements that are active in this battle, I think the Life element is the best choice to equip the Dragon monster in this deck.

I've compiled a line-up with each monster's strategy as shown in the table below.

MonsterPositionAbilitiesStrategy
Quix The DeviousSummoner-1 Range, -1 Speed
Soul FiendFirstNon
Pelacor ConjurereSecondFlying, Magic Reflect, Devine Shield
Void DragonThirdFlying, Void, Phase
Venari MarkstratFourthMartyr
Chaos DragonFifthFlying, Scattershot, Blast, Blind
Celestial HarpyLastFlying, Opportunity, True Strike

You can see the line-up of the two teams from the picture below. The opponent also uses Quix The Devious as a Summoner combined with the Water element.

STRATEGY DISCUSSION

The strategy that I applied went very well in this battle. The placement of Flying monsters is very decisive, because this will determine who can survive until the end.

Because Earthquake rulesets will deal 2 Melee damage to non-Flying monsters, there are several strategies that you can consider if you get these rulesets, including:

  • Using a Summoner that grants Flying ability buff, namely Brington Bloom so that all monsters can have the ability Fying.
  • If it is not possible to use the Brighton Bloom Summoner, use as many monsters as possible that have the Flying ability.
  • Try to use Summoners that provide buffs + Armor such as Kelya Frendul, Lir Deepsimmer, Drake of Arnak, Tyrus Palladium, Grandmaster Rathe, The Paeakrider, Franz Ruffmane, or Lux Vega. Lorna Shine who has Devine Shield can also be used.
  • Use monsters that have a lot of Armor, so they won't die in just one round from getting an Earthquake.
  • Use Monsters with Shield abilities, so that Melee damage from Earthquake can be reduced.
