Junker, the Repairman for Riftwatchers !

Hello Everyone!
I'm back again with my Weekly Battle Challenge post. Well, actually I'm a little sad because my post a few days ago entitled Amazing Battle with Taunt Monster Riftwatchers Edition that took part in the Splinterlands Social Media Challenge didn't get an upvote from @steemmonsters. Even though the posts above and below me have all received upvotes. I know that there is no guarantee of upvote but if everyone can and only I don't get it feel sad, "Where is my fault?" that's what I think. Never mind, maybe indeed my post was missed by accident 😊.

Well, Splinterlands' battle challenge theme for this week is Dhampir Stalker. But I chose another monster to be the theme this week, that is Junker, Common Neutral Monster from the Riftwatchers edition. I rarely play Splinterlands games because I ran out of Dec to rent, so I only played 2x in 1 season in unison with the brawl guild. I chose Junker because I think this monster is quite interesting, and of all the monsters this Riftwatchers edition is one of the monsters I use the most because at level up this monster is equipped with Repair ability.

Well guys, as you know I'm not a Proplayer nor am I a tournament hero, I'm just happy to share the battle strategy of the battle which I find interesting which might be a reference you can use if the monsters and rulesets in your battle support it.

JUNKER

As the Riftwatchers travel between realms laid to ruin by the Chaos Legion, there are many scraps left behind. That is where the junkers step in. They go through what’s left and take anything their allies can repurpose. These collectors often specialize in crafting, mechanics, and repair for the Riftwatchers.

LORE from Splinterlands

Edition: RIFTWATCHERS
Rarity: Common
Element: Neutral
Attack: Melee
Mana Capacity : 7
Abilities: Reach, Repair
Monsters from neutral elements have the advantage of being able to be combined with all elements. So the use of neutral monsters is not absolutely combined with this or that monster. From the Chaos Legion series, the neutral monster Scravo Hireling at level 1 already has the ability Repair, but unfortunately this monster has no damage. Meanwhile, Jungker, although Repair ability is only active at level 6 or in at least the Gold league, he also has another ability, namely Reach and has Melee attacks. It's just that I think this monster is more suitable to be used in high mana battles because it has 7 mana. In addition, because the rarity of this monster is Common, so in the Rise of Common battle this monster can still be used. You can see the full stats of Jungker from the image below:

stats.png

Speaking of price, because this is a common monster so it is natural that the price of this monster is cheap. The lowest price for today from the splintercard.com data for Regular Foil is $0.22 and for Gold Foil is $2.26. If you want to build your own deck, I highly recommend that you also consider these monsters in your deck.

BATTLE PREPARATION

RULESETS

rulesets.png

The rulesets from this battle are Odd Ones Out(Only Monsters with odd mana cost may be used in this battle) with mana cap 50 and the active elements are Water, Earth, Death, and Dragon.

LINE-UP AND STRATEGY

The battle with mana cap 50 allows us to use some monsters that have high mana, and Dragon element is my favorite in battle with high mana . The strategy in this battle is defense strategy, using 2 tanks, that is in the first and last positions. Support from this battle I will use 2 repair abilities from Junker and Mardaali Guardian who also have the ability Thank Heal, and add another 1 Thank Heal Monster + Resurrect Oshuur Constantia. The second tank that I'm going to use is another monster from Riftwatchers edition which have Taunt ability, Agor Longtail. In detail, the strategy of each monster I will explain in the table below:

MonsterPositionAbilityStrategy
quix the devious.pngSummoner-1 Range, -1 SpeedQuix The Devious level 3 as Summoner, This is the only Dragon summoner I have, besides that the Debuffs of this monster cube are good for supporting wheezing. You know, giving -1 Speed to all the opposing monsters will increase your chances.
robodragon.pngFirst (Tank)void Armor, Devine Shield, PiercingRobo-Dragon Knight level 2 as tank, very strong because of the abilities possessed. In addition, it has a lot of HP and Armor so that it can withstand the opponent's attacks for a long time. Coupled with the support of 2 Thank Heal monsters that will Restore HP for several times, it certainly makes the defense of this monster difficult to penetrate
junker.pngSecond (Support+Attacker)Reach, RepairJungker level 6 with 3 Melee attack, 7HP, Reach and Repair abilities is the star of this battle. I put this monster in second position so that this monster can still provide attacks for enemy Tanks.
mardaali guardian.pngThird (Support)Thank Heal, RepairMardaali Guardian level 5, not max level Gold league but all abilities in this league are opened. Even though it doesn't have an attack, this onster is one of the important components in the defensive strategy because of its Thank Heal and Repair ability. To be honest this is one of the most common monsters I use in battles in the Gold and Diamond league.
oshuur.pngFourth (Support+Attacker)Resurrect, Reflection Shield, Thank HealOshuur Constantia level 3 has 2 magic attacks, Resurrect ability that will resurrect the first dead Tank, and Thank Heal ability which will provide HP Restore support for monsters in the first position. Reflection Shield ability is not very useful in this battle because the position of this monster in the middle of the formation is open next to the monster Taunt.
mardaali g.pngFifth (Support+Attacker)TriageAngelic Mandarin will be attacker with 2 range attacks and support Agor Longtail because have Triage Ability.
agir.pngLast (Tank)Flying, Taunt, Void Armor, HealAgor Longtail level 3 with active Heal ability, very strong as Tank because has a lot of HP and Armor, Flying and Void Armor makes this monster difficult to kill, especially in this formation this monster supports Triage and Repair ability. I think I will win without having to lose 1 monster haha

LET'S GO TO THE BATTLEFIELD!!!

line-up.png

The opponent uses Summoner Kelya Frendul, which if you look at the strategy used at a glance is an attack strategy. The tank used is Legionaire Alvar, a Legendary Neutral monster. In the second position there is Flying Squid, the third position is Narissa Tridawn, the fourth position is Rivel Hellondale, the fifth position is the Coastal Nymp monster Riftwatchers, and the last position is the Range monster of the neutral element Goblin Carriot.

Let's discuss the course of the round by round match.

As usual, the battle begins with the giving of buffs and debuffs from all summoners and monsters. Even though Quix The Devious gives a debuffs of -1 Speed, Kelya Frendul gives a buff of +1 Speed, so still the opponent's monster has a higher speed than my team. Flying Squid has a chance to be the first attacker in this battle.

In this second Round, Legionaire Alvar died as a result of an attack from the Robo-Dragon Knight, but was resurrected again by River Hellondale. The strategy I used was very effective in this battle. Robo-Dragon Knight who has lost armor and even small HP returns to prime after getting 2x Repair and 2x Heal.

Legionaire Alvar finally died in the third round due to being hit by the Piercing Robo-Dragon Knight. In this round, Robo-Dragon Knight again gets 2x Heal and 2x Repair, Agor Longtail does not have Armor but HP is full again after being healed by Angelic Mandarin and Heal himself.

Flying Squid died in the fourth round, and until this point it was seen that the opposing team no longer had a strong Tank. Even though my monster, whose formation is in the middle, is attacked by the Coastal Nymp Scattershot, it can still survive.

Narissa Tridawn died in the fifth round. There are 3 monsters left in the opponent's camp. In contrast to my formation where the rear Tank and the frontmost Tank are still in full performance because they get Heal and Repair. I think the opposing team is just waiting for the defeat.

This match finally ended in the seventh round. After River Hellondale died, the opponent had no power to attack and the one remaining monster cage eventually died. I won with the formation intact, none of my monsters died. You can see the final result of this match in the image below:

STRATEGY DISCUSSION

My strategy worked very well in this battle. I won easily with a complete formation without a single monster dying. I think there are several factors that make me win easily in this battle,

  • Opponents are too confident by only placing 1 tank without any Repair or Heal support, Only relying on Resurrect support
  • The damage from the opponent is not comparable to the defense I have, so the opponent can't kill the Tank I have.
  • In this battle, Scattershot ability is not an advantage but rather a weakness because of the attack that becomes unfocused from 1 point. If Scattershot and Affliction Coastal Nymp hit the Tank I owned and caused it to be unable to heal, maybe things would be different.

This strategy is for the Gold league, and may not be suitable for use in other leagues because the unlocked abilities of each monster are different in each league. The weakness of this strategy is the small amount of damage because some monsters that support defense only have small damage or even no damage.
