Kelya Frendul Squad in Up Close and Personal

Hello guys!
Yeeeeey I'm back again with my Splinterlands post. This is my second post to follow Splinterlands Mage Secrets Battle Challenge Up Close & Personal. This is a battle full of strategy because you can only use monster Melee in this battle.
Well, I'm not a professional player or a tournament hero. I merely like to discuss battles and strategies that in my opinion are worthwhile. I participated in this combat using my Scholarship account with IGN BLTZR-WIZARD-700. I played in the Diamond league at modern rank while using a Full main Chaos Legion edition card and several Reward cards whose level was not max. The battle strategy that I shared may not be effective in other leagues because of the different levels of each league.
Ok guys, without further ado, let's get straight to the heart of this post!

BATTLE PREPARATION
Challenge Rules
RULESET: Up Close & Personal
Description:
Only units with melee attacks can be used.
Use Thorns and Demoralize to counter melee attacks.
Units with 2 types of attacks (including melee) can be used.

Battle Rulesets

The rulesets in this battle are:
- Up Close and Personal (Only Monsters with Melee attack may be used in battles)
- Explosive Weaponry (All monsters have the Blast ability)
- Taking Sides (Neutral Monsters may not be used in battles)
- Mana Capacity 35
- All active elements

Line Up and Strategy
Some strategies that you can consider in Up Close and Personal rulesets include:
- Using Counter strategy with Thorn monster, This will make the attack from the melee monster turn towards the attacker
- Using Counter strategy with Demoralize monsters, by reducing the attack damage of all enemy monsters. The more Demoralize the monster the better.
- Using Counter strategy Retaliate, Abilities are a little tricky, but if retaliate is active, this will be very helpful because the monster that is hit by the attack will return the attack even if it is not his turn.
- Using tanks with Shield ability, because the amount received will be reduced by half.
- Combine attacks from several sides by using Opportunity and Sneak monsters.
With that strategy in mind, I put together a line-up that I'll explain in the table below:
| Monster | Position | Abilities | Strategy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kelya Frendul | Summoner | +1 Speed, +1 Armor | I chose Summoner Kelya Frendul because this is very suitable for aggressive attacks by relying on speed, considering the rulesets in this battle are Explosive Weaponry, where all monsters have Blast abilities. The faster we hit the opponent, the greater the chance of winning. conversely, the faster the opponent hits us, then all the monsters we have will die quickly due to Blast. |
| Diemonshark | First | Trample, Enrage, Retaliate | The main tank in this battle is Diemonshark, a monster that is very strong both as a tank and an attacker in the face of melee monsters. Diemo nshark has a fairly high default speed and can enrage actively, so the speed and damage will increase and this will make it more difficult for the opponent to hit this monster, as well as this monster will also be more terrifying because of the enormous damage. Moreover, this monster also has Trample ability, this can make this monster a perfect killing monster. In addition, the Retaliate possessed by this monster, if this monster gets an opponent's attack, there will be a chance to retaliate even if it is not this monster's turn, and if it is combined with other abilities of this monster will make the opponent very difficult. |
| Flying Squid | Second | Reach, Blind, Backfire | Apart from being a second tank, Flying Squid is also an attacker and support. This monster has a Reach ability that allows attacking opponents even though they are in second place. This monster as support has the Blind ability, which will increase the chance of all opposing monsters experiencing a miss attack. If this monster becomes the target of the attack, with the ability of Backfire and high Speed, then if the opponent's attack misses, then the attack will turn towards the attacker. |
| Deeplurker | Third | Opportunity, Poison, Demoralize | Apart from being a very strong attacker because it has enormous damage accompanied by Poison ability, this Opportunity monster also has a Demoralize ability that will reduce attack damage from all enemy monsters. I'm sure this monster will be very useful because the attack target of this monster is the opponent's monster with the most HP except for it, and if the monster is in the formation then the attack of this monster will be very explosive because the blast that the monster will receive between the targets is also a big. |
| Kulu Mastermind | Fourth | Weapons training, Opportunity, Shield | Just like Deeplurker, Kulu Mastermind also has great damage with the target of all opponent monsters with the smallest HP. If combined with Deeplurker, then the two monsters will quickly finish off all the opponent's monsters. In normal rulesets, this mustard will give a twitch to the opponent because the weapons training ability will make monsters and the damage beside this monster will have half the damage of Kulu Mastermind, but because this time we can only use Melee monsters, then this ability is useless. The shiled ability that this monster has in reducing half of the attacks received by this monster. |
| Hardy Stonefish | Fifth | None | This is a rear tank that will be an attack target for both Sneak and Opportunity monsters. |
You can see the complete line-up of both teams in the picture below. The opponent uses a Neutral Summoner, Lux Vega, which is destroyed with a Life monster.

The main tank of the opponent is Shiledbearer which is an Untimed edition monster Taunt, with other bailities Shield and Returnfire. This is a monster instead and very powerful guys, and maybe I'll have a hard time because of this monster. In the second position there is Consair Bosun, with the ability of Reach, Reflection Shield and Cleanse. This is also one of the expensive monsters from the Riftwatcher edition. The third position is Soul Fiend who has the Swiftness ability that will increase the speed of all enemy monsters. Then in fourth position there is Stitch Leech who is a Senak monster, then in fifth position there is Celestial Harpy who is an Opportunity mosnter and in the last position there is Dumacke Exile as an attacker who has Sneak ability and as a tank delakang with Shiled ability.

BATTLEFIELD ARENA
This battle doesn't take long to determine the winner. It only takes 3 rounds to finish off all the opponent's monsters.

STRATEGY DISCUSSION
This strategy is very effective in this battle. Kelya Frendul who plays peed buffs and armor plays a very important role in this victory. So also with Diemonshark, after Enrage is active, this monster becomes very scary, because several times the trample ability is active, making several enemy monsters die in a row both due to direct attacks and from Blast.
Strategically, the opponent's strategy that uses Taunt mosnter and accompanied by Reflection Shield is clearly structured and has a greater chance of winning because the opponent does not need to have a Blast that spreads in all directions, but the amount of damage and speed are the keys to my victory.
Water monsters do have some very powerful melee monsters, both as tanks, Opportunity, and Sneak monsters. This will make the Water team a good choice if you get Up Close and Personal rulesets. In addition, some water monsters also have abilities that support the rulesets, such as Trample and Enrage from Diemonshark, Demoralize from the Opportunity monster Deeplurker, and Shield abilities from Kulu Mastermaind.
