Hello guys!

Yeeeeey I'm back again with my Splinterlands post. I'm writing this post to follow Splinterlands Mage Secrets Battle Challenge, Earthquake.

You are very lucky if you have the summoner Brighton Bloom who gives the Flying ability buff to all monsters. But if you don't have this summoner, you can also use several strategies to deal with Earthquake rulesets. And one strategy I will share in this post.

Well, once again I remind you that I am nobody Not a pro-player or a tournament champion I just like to share strategies according to my personal views I still use a Scholarship account with IGN BLTZR-WIZARD-700 playing in the modern Diamond league with max level cards consisting of full core Chaos Legion and some Reward cards The strategy I will apply may not be effective if applied in other leagues, considering that the level of cards and abilities that are open in each league is also different.

Ok guys, without further ado, let's get straight to the main topic of this post!

BATTLE PREPARATION

Challenge Rules

RULESET: Earthquake

Description:
All non-flying units take 2 physical damage at the end of every turn.

Snared units are considered non-flying. Since the damage given is physical, it can be reduced to 1 if the unit has the shield ability.

Battle Rulesets

There is only 1 ruleset in this battle that is Earthquake, with all elements active and has a mana cost of 29.

Line Up and Strategy

Earthquake will only deal 2 physical damage to monster without flying. However, for Flying monsters, there will be no effect. The safest way in this ruleset is to use Summoner Brighton Bloom because it will provide flying ability buffs for all monsters. But if you don't have this ability, the easiest solution is to use monsters with the Flying ability. Snare monsters can also be used, in anticipation, because targets hit by Snare will lose Flying ability.

In general, the strategies that I will use in this battle include:

  • Optimize the use of Flying monsters by placing them in a position that is not easy to attack by opponents.
  • Use Martyr monsters to boost the stats of monsters that will become the main attacker.
  • The main attacker is a Flying monster, so it won't die just because of Earthquake.
  • Using a strong Tank so that the main attacker can be well protected.
  • Non-Flying monsters will still be used, but in a position to protect the main attacker.

I put together a line-up with the strategy of each monster I will explain in the table below:

MonsterPositionAbilitiesStrategy
Quix The DeviousSummoner-1 Range, -1 SpeedQuix The Devious is a Dragon Summoner who has a debuff ability of -1 Range, -1 Speed. This is not related to Earthquake or Flying. But keep in mind that many Dragon monsters have the ability to fly. By using Dragon Summoner, this will summon Dragon monsters that can be combined with Neutral monsters and also other monsters from one of the elements. Considering this is the middle mana battle so I think this Summoner is the best one for this battle.
Void DragonFirstFlying, Void, PhaseVoid Dragon is a Flying monster that has excellent Void and Phase abilities for defense from magic attacks. Because it has a high speed combined with Flying ability, this monster also has a great chance to avoid Melee and Range. I chose this monster in the first position as the main tank because of this ability.
Venari MarkstratSecondMartyrVenari Markstrat is not a Flying monster, but this monster has the Snare ability which will be very useful if it hits a Flying monster because the Flying ability will be lost if hit by Snare. In addition, I deliberately placed this monster next to the Void Dragon, so that if this monster dies and the Martyr ability is active, then the stats of the Void Dragon will increase. This will make the Void Dragon more difficult to attack and become a stronger tank.
Pelacor ConjurerThirdFlying, Magic Reflect, Devine ShieldIn addition to the Void Dragon, the monster next to the Martyr monster is the Pelacor Conjurer who in this battle will be the main attacker because it also has a Flying ability that will not be hit by Earthquake. Although the initial stat of this monster is a non-damage monster, in this battle Pelacor Conjurer will get Weapons Training from Aver Sturgis, so this monster will have Magic Damage. If the Martyr of the Venari Markstrat is active, then this monster will also experience a stat increase. Apart from being an attacker, this monster is also very strong as a tank, because it has high speed combined with Flying and Phase abilities, almost the same as the Void Dragon, and besides that it also has a Devine Shield ability where the first attack that hits this monster will be ignored.
Aves SturgisFourthWeapons TrainingAves Sturgis is not a Flying monster, nor does it have stats with HP and large armpr, but I chose this monster to be included in the line-up this time because it has Weapons Training, which will deal maximum damage to the Pelacor Conjurer that I previously described.
Celestial HarpyFifthFlying, Opportunity, True StrikeAves Sturgis is not a Flying monster, nor does it have stats with HP and large armpr, but I chose this monster to be included in the line-up this time because it has Weapons Training, which will deal maximum damage to the Pelacor Conjurer that I previously described.
Adelade BrightwingFifthFlying, Repair, Resurrect, Immunity, SwiftnessAnother Flying monster, which is also an important support in the line-up this time. This monster has a Repair ability that will repair the armor of damaged friendly monsters. In addition, this monster also has a Resurrect ability that will resurrect the first dead comrade monster. Another ability is Swiftness, where this ability will increase the speed of all friendly monsters.

You can see the line-ups of both teams in this picture. The opponent uses the Rebellion Summoner of the Life element, Avina of Wolf with an ability speed of +2 for 2 units or Heal ability for one unit.

line-up.png

The first position as the main tank is Rebellion monster, Grimbardun Smith with Immunity, Void and Shield abilities. The second position is Aves Sturgis, where this monster will provide Weapons Training for monsters in the first and third positions. The third posiist is Pelacor Conjurer, and the fourth posiist is Celestial Harpy and the fifth posiist is Adelade Brightwing.

STRATEGY DISCUSSION

The strategy I applied worked well in this battle. I narrowly won with only 2 monsters left, namely Celetial Harpy and Adelade Brightwing. It is undeniable that the strength of the two teams is the same with almost the same line-up, relying on Pelacor Conjurer who received Weapons Training as the main attacker. Even so, the term position determines achievement really applies to this battle.

Because Earthquake rulesets will deal 2 Melee damage to non-Flying monsters, there are several strategies that you can consider if you get these rulesets, including:

  • Using a Summoner that grants Flying ability buff, namely Brington Bloom so that all monsters can have the ability Fying.
  • If it is not possible to use the Brighton Bloom Summoner, use as many monsters as possible that have the Flying ability.
  • Try to use Summoners that provide buffs + Armor such as Kelya Frendul, Lir Deepsimmer, Drake of Arnak, Tyrus Palladium, Grandmaster Rathe, The Paeakrider, Franz Ruffmane, or Lux Vega. Lorna Shine who has Devine Shield can also be used.
  • Use monsters that have a lot of Armor, so they won't die in just one round from getting an Earthquake.
  • Use Monsters with Shield abilities, so that Melee damage from Earthquake can be reduced.
