Quix The Devious vs Conqueror Jacek, GOING THE DISTANCE!
Hello guys!
Yeeeeey I'm back again with my Splinterlands post. I'm writing this post to follow Splinterlands Mage Secrets Battle Challenge. The theme for this week's challenge is Going the Distance rulesets. Honestly, these are the most annoying rulesets, because only range monsters can be used in this battle. While range monsters can only be used for distance, except monsters with Close Range abilities, can attack even if they are in the first position.
Well, I'm neither a proplayer nor a tournament hero. I just enjoys sharing strategy and battles that I find interesting in my own view. I played using my Bulldog1025 scholar account with IGN NIGHTMAREINBONE on modern battles on Gold leagues, and maybe the battle strategies I'd share weren't suitable to apply in other leagues because the differences in ability that open up are different from each league.
Ok guys, without further ado, let's get straight to the heart of this post!
BATTLE PREPARATION
Challenge Rules
RULESET: Going the Distance
Description:
Only units with ranged attacks may be used.
Consider including units with the Close Range and Return Fire abilities in your lineup.
Battle Rulesets
The rulesets in this battle are:
- Target Practice (All Ranged and Magic attack monsters have the Snipe ability)
- Going The Distance (Only Monsters with Ranged attack may be used in battles)
- Odd Ones Out (Only Monsters with Odd mana cost may be used in battles)
- Mana Capacity 34
- Active Element Fire, Water, Life, Death and Dragon.
Line Up and Strategy
An important point to consider in these rulesets is the selection of tanks, as well as the provision of bufs and debuffs. So I chose Quix The Devious which provides debuff speed and range attack. In addition, what makes me dizzy is the selection of tanks. This is because I don't have many monsters with Close Range. Since I have Lava Launcher, eating a combination of Dragon and Fire is the right choice. Well, the order and strategy of each monster can be seen in the table below:
Monster | Position | Abilities | |
---|---|---|---|
Quix the Devious | Summoner | -1 Range, -1 Speed | |
Lava Launcher | First | Close Range, Stun | |
Venari Marksrat | Second | Martyr | |
Firecaller | Third | Martyr | |
Pyrewatch Devil | Fourth | Life Leech | |
Lava Spider | Fifth | Snipe, Snare | |
Gobson Bomber | Last | Recharge, Camouflage |
BATTLEFIELD ARENA
I've also included a youtube video of this battle that you can play right away.
This battle runs pretty fast, only requiring 4 rounds to complete.
STRATEGY DISCUSSION
The strategy I applied worked well, by placing 2 Martyrs I hoped that the monsters that got Martyrs would increase stat by 2x, but because the opponent used ConQueror Jacek which gave a Scattershot buff to all players, the attacks from all opponent monsters I randomly attacked both from the front, middle and back.
