Reflection Shield Monsters in Up To Eleven

photo_2023-12-05_00-19-45.jpg

Hello guys!

Yeeeeey I'm back again with my Splinterlands post. This is my second post to follow Splinterlands Mage Secrets Battle Challenge, Up to Eleven.

The battle that I will share is very interesting, because in addition to Up to Eleven rulesets, where all monsters have Amplify abilities, this battle also has Briar Patch rulesets where all monsters have Thorn abilities. As we know that the Amplify ability will contain damage points from Thorn, Return Fire and Reflect Magic will increase by +1. I'm sure for sure you will like what I share.

Well, I'm neither a proplayer nor a tournament hero. I just enjoys sharing strategy and battles that I find interesting in my own view. I played on modern and wild battles on Gold leagues, and maybe the battle strategies I'd share weren't suitable to apply in other leagues because the differences in ability that open up are different from each league.

Ok guys, without further ado, let's get straight to the heart of this post!

The rulesets in this battle are:

  • Up to Eleven (All Monsters have the Amplify ability)
  • Lost Magic (Monsters with Magic attack may not be used in battles)
  • Briar Patch (All Monsters have the Thorn ability)
  • Mana Capacity 18
  • Active Element Water, Death and Dragon.

Line Up and Strategy

This is a low mana battle, with rulesets that require strategic foresight. I planned the strategy as follows:

  • Avoid using Melee monsters, because this is tantamount to suicide because all monsters have the Thorn ability, but it doesn't matter if the monster has the Reflection Shield ability.
  • Using tanks with strong defense from both Melee, Magic and Range but not Melee monsters.
  • Attacker consists of low mana monsters with Magic and Range damage.

From these strategic considerations, I compiled the line-up as follows:

MonsterPositionAbilitiesStrategy
Quix The DeviousSummoner-1 Range, -1 Speed
BaakjiraFirstVoid, Slow, Strengthen, Heal
Tide BiterSecondReach, Reflection Shield, True Strike
Torrent FiendThirdHeadwinds
Angelic MandarinFourthTriage, Silence
Igor DarkspearFifthStun

You can see the complete line-up of both teams in the picture below. The opponent also uses Summoner Quix The Devious but the monsters arranged are a combination of Dragon, Neutral and Death elements, while I use monsters from the Water element.

STRATEGY DISCUSSION

The strategy I applied worked very well in this battle. Although both teams use Melee monsters with Reflection Shield as the main attacker, because the opponent does not have a strong tank, the opponent's defense is quite easy to penetrate. The duo of Tide Biter and Baakjira is the key to victory in this battle.
