RUNI in Action, Reverse Speed Splinterlands Mage Secrets Challenge!

photo_2023-09-18_13-05-02.jpg

Hello guys!

Yeeeeey I'm back again with my Splinterlands post. I'm writing this post to follow Splinterlands Mage Secrets Battle Challenge, Reverse Speed. This ruleset is quite often encountered in battle rank, and honestly I prepared this battle strategy that I will share since this challenge post came out. Unfortunately because last week I was so busy with my real life, that I had to postpone writing this post until now. As of 6 days ago since my last post, even the Actifit post that I usually post every day is also the same because I have been very busy lately.

Well, as you know guys, I'm neither a proplayer nor a tournament hero. I just enjoys sharing strategy and battles that I find interesting in my own view. I played on modern battles on Gold leagues using Bulldog1205 Scholarship account with IGN NIGHTMAREINBONE, and maybe the battle strategies I'd share weren't suitable to apply in other leagues because the differences in ability that open up are different from each league.

Ok guys, without further ado, let's get straight to the heart of this post!

BATTLE PREPARATION

Challenge Rules

RULESET: REVERSE SPEED

Description:

Units with lower speeds will attack before units with higher speeds. Attack Accuracy based on speed will also be reversed.

Units with the Bloodlust ability will increase speed after killing a unit.
Avoid using Slow as this will help your opponent.

Battle Rulesets

rulesets.png

The rulesets in this battle are:

  • Reverse Speed (Monsters with the lowest speed attack first and have the highest chance of evading attacks.)
  • Super Sneak (All Melee attack Monsters have the Sneak ability)
  • Explosive Weaponry (All Monsters have the Blast ability)
  • Mana Capacity 56
  • Active Element Fire, Eater, Life Death and Dragon.

Line Up and Strategy

As explained in the description above, that in Reverse Speed rulesets, monsters that have the lowest speed have a chance to attack first and have a greater chance to avoid the opponent's attack. In this battle, other rulesets besides Reverse Speed are Explosive Weaponry where all monsters have the Blast ability. So whoever gets the opportunity to attack first will have a greater chance of winning.

Another ruleset in this battle is Super Sneak where all Melee monster attacks have Sneak abilities. So, another strategy to consider in anticipation of these rulesets is to use a powerful rear tank. In addition, using buffs to increase melee attacks and Demoralize debuffs to reduce opponents' melee attacks also needs to be considered in your line-up and strategy.

The arrangement of monsters and the strategies that I consider from each monster I will explain as in the table below.

MonsterPositionAbilitiesStrategy
TarsaSummoner+1 MeleeTarsa's ability that increases Melee's damage is very supportive for Super Sneak rulesets, and I also use many Melee monsters so Tarsa is the best Summoner for this battle.
Grum FlamebladeFirstBloodlust, Void Armor, Void, Giant KillerGrum Flameblade has a speed of 1 which is very suitable for Reverse Speed, and besides that the stats of this monster are indeed very interesting, very suitable as a Tank and attacker. I'm sure this will be the monster that OPs on this Reverse Speed.
RuniSecondOpportunity, Rebirth, True Strike, Reflection ShieldJust like Grum Flameblade, Runi which has a speed of 1 is perfect for Reverse Speed rulesets. Runi, which is an NFT with a special ability, Rebirth is very strong, moreover, it also has stats with Armor and also very interesting abilities, Especially it has a Reflection Shield, so blasts from opponents who hit Grum Flameblade in the first position will be held by Runi.
Legionaire AlvarThirdVoid Armor, Giant Killer, DemoralizeLegionaire Alvar has very good stats and supports the strategy I use because it has Demoralize to reduce damage melee attacks from all enemy monsters, has Void Armor, so when this monster is in the first position, it also has strong defense from Magic monsters. In addition, this monster also has a Giant Killer, so it will deal 2x damage to monster targets that have mana costs more than 10. This monster's speed is also only 2, so it's pretty good for Reverse Speed rulesets.
Lava LauncherFourthClose Range, StunAlthough Lava Launcher has sped 3, this monster has Range 4 damage, can be a very strong attacker. In addition, it also has Stun ability and also has great Armor,
Antoid PlatoonFifthShield, ScavengerThe Antoid Platoon is in the riding position from behind, with the aim of receiving a blast if the sneak melee of an opponent monster that has the Sneak ability hits the rear tank target. This is because the Antoid Platoon has Shield ability. In addition, this monster also has a Scavenger where loyal to other monsters die both friend and foe monsters, then the HP of this monster will increase.
Forgotten OneLastImmunity, Retaliate, PiercingI chose the Forgotten One as the rear tank in the Super Sneak rulesets because this monster has the Retaliate ability. This monster also has a great Piercing ability and melee attacks, so as to be a tank, this monster is also a very strong and deadly attacker. The Speed of this monster is also only 2, so it still has a great chance to attack early or avoid the opponent's attack with greater speed.

You can see the complete line-up of both teams in the picture below.

The opponent uses Summoner Dragon, Lily Shieldpaw combined with monsters from Life and Neutral element. In the first position, there is Djinn Chwala who has the abilities Thorn and Enrage. Then in second place is Djinn Renova with Strengthen and Triage abilities. The third position is Adelade Brightwing with the ability of Flying, Repair, Resurrect, and Immunity. Then in fourth place there is the Spirit Hoarder with speed 1 and the abilities Triage, Dispel and Blind. The fifth position is Oshuur Constantia who has Reflection Shield, Resurrect and Thank Heal, and in the last position there is the Taunt monster, Agor Longtail. with flying, Taunt, Void Armor, and Heal abilities.

I've also included a youtube video of this battle that you can play right away.

This battle is quite long, even with a speed of 2x it still takes 4 minutes to complete this battle. What's even more interesting is that the two teams both have good strategies, and powerful monsters. Even opponents with Triage party and 2x resurect for Agor Longtail who have Void Armor and Heal ability are very difficult strategies to penetrate.

STRATEGY DISCUSSION

The strategy I applied worked very effectively in this battle. Even though the opponent uses the Triage Party strategy with 2x resurrect, I can finally become the winner in this battle, with the Giant Killer ability of Legionaire Alvar.
