The Battle Of The Dark!

Hello guys!

Yeeeeey I'm back again with my Splinterlands post. This is my second post to follow Splinterlands Mage Secrets Battle Challenge Born Again. When Runi just came out, one of the abilities that made him very over power was the Rebirth ability, by reviving himself after death. And then Born Again rulesets began to appear in battle. To be honest, I, who didn't have Runi at that time, was very curious about this Rebirth ability, and was very enthusiastic about Born Again. Even though these rulesets appear more often, I'm still very anticipating getting battles with these rulesets. And on this occasion, I will share one of my battle strategies with the Born Again rulesets.

Are you curious about how this battle went? Without further ado, let's get straight to the point of this post. Well, I'm neither a proplayer nor a tournament hero. I just enjoys sharing strategy and battles that I find interesting in my own view. I did this battle in the modern battle Diamond League using my scholarship account with IGN BLTZR-WIZARD-700, and maybe the strategy I used was not suitable for other leagues because of the differences in the abilities of each monster that was different in each league.

Battle Rulesets

The rulesets in this battle are:

  • Up to Eleven (All Monsters have the Amplify ability)
  • Born Again (All Monsters have the Rebirth ability)
  • Fog of War (Monsters lose the Sneak, Snipe and Opportunity ability)
  • Mana Capacity 60
  • Active Element Death and Dragon.

Line Up and Strategy

With the rulesets above, where there are only 2 active elements, namely Death and Dragon, then I think playing the debuff ability that many monsters have from the Death element is the best stargei. So, I compiled some strategies that I will apply as follows:

  • Using Dragon Summoner, and the goal is to make the variety of monster selection in compiling the line-up more complete than ahnay using Death Summoner.
  • Use Monster/Summoner with the ability to reduce damage (Silence, Demoralize, Headwind).
  • Play Speed, increase speed with buff ability or reduce opponent's speed.
  • Variety of attacks, with no focus only on one particular type of attack, to make it easier to penetrate the opponent's defense.

And arrange the line-up as I'll explain in the following table:

MonsterPositionAbilitiesStrategy
Quix the DeviousSummoner-1 Range, -1 SpeedIn addition to Summoning Dragon and Death monsters, Quix The Devious is also included in the strategy that I will apply above because it has a debuff that reduces Damage range as well as speed. So I no longer have to use monsters with Headwind to reduce rage damage.
Cursed WindekuFirstThorn, Heal, SlowIn the first position I chose to use Cursed Windeku. Even though in low and middle mana battle this monster is very good as a tank, but I think in High mana battle this monster is not suitable as a tank because it has no armor at all. However, this time I still use this monster in the first position because apart from being a tank, this monster is also an attacker and support monster. This monster has 4 melee attacks with Thorn's ability to defend against melee monsters. Has a Slow ability to reduce the speed of all enemy monsters and Heal ability also plays a role for defense.
Carnage TitanSecondReach, Double Strike, ShieldCarnage Titan, is in second place as a second tank and once an attacker because it has 4 melee attacks with Double Strike ability. This monster also has a Shield ability with great stat of 8 HP and 7 Armor. It will be very powerful if it becomes a tank for melee from range monsters.
Djinn MuiratThirdVoid Armor, Knock Out, Giant Killer, Reflect Magic, ForcefieldDjinn Muirat in third place has 3 magic damage. This monster is also the best magic Tank in this line-up. Especially with this Up to Eleven ruleset, all monsters also have Amplify abilities, so the reversal of attacks from magic monsters to these monsters will be more pronounced because +1. In addition, this monster also has the ability of Void Armor, but later if it experiences rebirth, it will return to survive with large Void Armor and armor and may make it difficult for opponents.
Chaos DragonFourthlying, Scattershot, Blast, BlindMy main attacker, Chaos Dragon with 4 magic damage equipped with Blast and Scattershot where the direction of the attack can go anywhere will be an annoying killing machine. Even though the opponent uses magic attack reducing abilities, this monster is still strong with all the abilities it has.
Will-O-WispFifthFlying, Weaken, SilenceThe initial stat of this monster is a non-damage monster and only acts as a tank and support. Nmaun in this battle apart from being the most important support because of his abilities, this monster is also an attacker because beside him there is a Weapons Training monster. As I explained above, I will use the Silence monster and Will-O-Wisp is the only Silence monster I have.
Berix SnakeyeLastWeapons Training, Void Armor, Oppress, True StrikeRange attacker in last position, also as a tank from Sneak monster. The Weapons Training of this monster is very helpful in adding attacks to the opponent, so Will-O-Wisp is not only a suppoert but can be an attacker as well because he gets Weapons Training from this monster.

This battle is pretty entertaining, isn't it? When there are only 2 active elements in this battle, with a limited selection of monsters, the opponent relies on Djinn Muirat with Reflect Magic as a tank with multiple generations ranging from rulesets, Resurrect Summoner, and Resurrect Skok Duskblight.

STRATEGY DISCUSSION

The strategy I applied worked well in this battle. Chaos Dragon still remains the strongest attacker, with surprise attacks that are never predicted. As we know, the famous strategic combination in the Death element is to play the debuff owned by Death monsters. And combined with the Summoner Dragon that gives a -1 Range debuff, this will greatly affect the attack damage received by the tank. In addition, by using Dragon Summoner, the choice of monsters that can be applied in the line-up is also increasingly varied when compared to only using Death elements.

The strategy used by the opponent in this battle is to rely on the generation of Djinn Muirat. I think the opponent really rests with Djinn Muirat because these Up to Eleven Rulesets will be very beneficial if you use Monsters with Reflect Magic like Djinn Muirat. I think the opponent predicted that I would use a lot of Magic monsters. And using a combination of Melee, Magic and Range attacks together is the right choice.
