My 8th Gladiator Fray still in Silver - Mein 8. Gladiator Zank weiter in Silber

I'm still behind. In the guild currently runs the member auction. So here not to lose time. The previous post was clearly too elaborate. But it certainly turned out well.

Again I could open a Gladius Case before my brawl.

New to the deck is Hugo Strongsword, a small life tank or good backup to Super Sneak or Melee Mayhem.

I now have 6 battles for which I may send in teams. As before, I open a second tab with the view of my cards and display only the gladiators. The rest of the cards I play often enough to have them in my mind's eye.

My first opponent is @schiavi. However, the battle does not take place yet.

Update: With only 14 Mana and Death I picked a Gladiator Whistling Damon.

I chose a lot of small mana cards, that I don't usually choose, surrounding the Gladiator.

The opposing Chicken was good cannon fodder again, however, that was not enough.

My second opponent is @almightymelon4th. With 40 mana and Explode, I opt for my epic gladiator Quora Towershead. So it's going to be a game of Earth Splinter.

It's great in combination with the Llama: Self-Heal and Last Stand. I place the Brownie behind it without worrying, since it will certainly not last until the end with Explode. What happens then, I have no words for. Phenomenal!

My third opponent is @ny01gt, and this battle is also yet to take place.

Update: This opponent missed the boat. This is a particular pity, because some fine gladiators could have been played!

My fourth opponent is @weiforce. This battle is also still waiting for the opposing team.

Update: With 15 Mana and Death I once again picked Whistling Damon.

And once again surrounded it with those cards I unually don't pick.

My opponent ran with his summoner into the empty: No magic with me. And my summoner gave the only serious opponent another damper. Damon is about to make his move, as can already be seen in the picture. 😁

My fifth opponent is @lapizote. Only straight mana monsters and without Sneak and Snipe. That narrows down the choice of gladiators a lot. I decide to go with my legendary Tatiana Blayde first and end up with Earth in the summoner selection. When I can't decide, I finally choose the Llama again.

Quora Towershead appears again in front of me on the screen. And then I don't think much longer. I just fill the team towards the front, because time is already running out. One mana remains unused, because the mana at the summoner are odd.

The opponent is ready to strike. My team is beaten in no time. Until Quora comes forward again.

My sixth and last opponent is @crispypatata. With 23 mana and only Life or Death, my choices are again severely limited - which again turns out to be an advantage. But I can't decide between Death with Witch of Warwick or Life with Captain Katie. My time is running out. I take Captain Katie and my Kiara Lightbringer to save mana.

When the enemy's team is displayed, I encounter three snipers. I'm glad I didn't choose the Witch of Warwick with only two health. Shortly before the start, my son next to me laughs, because he notices that the Armorsmith is placed completely futilely in the team. I would have needed the summoner Tyrus Paladium for that! Well, let's see what this will be.

At least the Armorsmith is in the sniper's sights along with the chicken in the "Keep your Distance" ruleset, and Catie will survive a few rounds. Will she?

When I look into the chat afterwards, some fellow players are active and confident that we will take first place in the group this time.

Looking at the clock, it becomes clear that I have now had about an hour of fun.

I had already finished most of the screenshots and texts for this article during the game. Only the three outstanding battles were still open and the translation into the second language was still on top.

DEUTSCH

Bin immer noch hinterher. In der Gilde läuft aktuell die Mitglieder-Auktion. Also hier keine Zeit verlieren. Der vorherige Beitrag war deutlich zu aufwändig. Doch gut geworden ist er bestimmt.

Wieder konnte ich vor meiner Rauferei einen Gladius Case öffnen.

Neu ins Deck gekommen ist Hugo Strongsword, ein kleiner Life-Tank oder gute Rückendeckung bei Super Sneak oder Melee Mayhem.

Ich habe nun 6 Kämpfe, für die ich Teams einsenden darf. Wie schon zuvor öffne ich mir dazu ein zweites Tab mit der Ansicht meiner Karten und lasse mir nur die Gladiatoren anzeigen. Die übrigen Karten spiele ich oft genug, um sie vor meinem geistigen Auge zu haben.

Mein erster Gegner ist @schiavi. Der Kampf findet jedoch noch nicht statt.

Update: Mit nur 14 Mana und Tod habe ich einen Gladiator Whistling Damon gewählt.

Ich habe eine Menge kleiner Manakarten gewählt, die ich normalerweise nicht wähle, rund um den Gladiator.

Das gegnerische Huhn war wieder gutes Kanonenfutter, doch das war nicht genug.

Mein zweiter Gegner ist @almightymelon4th. Mit 40 Mana und Explode entscheide ich mich für meinen epischen Gladiator Quora Towershead. Es wird also ein Spiel im Erde-Splinter.

Der eignet sich prima in Kombination mit dem Llama: Selbstheilung und Last Stand. Den Brownie plaziere ich unbesorgt dahinter, da der bei Explode sicher nicht durchhalten wird bis zum Schluss. Was dann passiert, dafür hab ich keine Worte. Phänomenal!

Update: Dieser Gegner verpasste den Anschluss. Das ist besonders schade, denn es hätten ein paar feine Gladiatoren gespielt werden können!

Mein Gegner lief mit seinem Beschwörer ins leere: Kein Magie bei mir. Und mein Beschwörer gab dem einzig ernsthaften Gegner noch einen Dämpfer. Damon kommt gleich zum Zug, wie schon im Bild erkennbar ist. 😁

Mein sechster und letzter Gegner ist @crispypatata. Bei 23 Mana und nur Life oder Death ist meine Auswahl erneut stark eingeschränkt - was sich wieder als Vorteil herausstellt. Doch ich kann mich nicht entscheiden zwischen Tod mit Witch of Warwick oder Leben mit Captain Katie. Meine Zeit zerrinnt. Ich nehme Captain Katie und meine Kiara Lightbringer, um Mana einzusparen.

Als das Team des Gegners angezeigt wird, begegnen mir drei Scharfschützen. Da bin ich ganz froh, dass ich mich nicht für die Witch of Warwick mit nur zwei Herzen entschieden habe. Kurz vor Start lacht mein Sohn neben mir noch, denn er bemerkt, dass der Armorsmith vollkommen sinnlos im Team plaziert ist. Dazu hätte ich den Beschwörer Tyrus Paladium gebraucht! Na mal sehen, was das wird.

Immerhin ist der Armorsmith zusammen mit dem Hühnchen im Regelsatz "Keep your Distance" mit im Visier der Scharfschützen und Catie wird ein paar Runden überleben. Wird sie?

Als ich anschließend in den Chat blicke, sind einige Mitspieler aktiv und zuversichtilch, dass wir diesmal den ersten Platz in der Gruppe belegen.

Mit Blick auf die Uhr wird deutlich, dass ich nun etwa eine Stunde Spaß hatte.

Wobei ich die Bildschirmfotos und Texte für diesen Beitrag während des Spielens bereits weitestgehend fertig bearbeitet hatte. Nur die drei ausstehenden Kämpfe waren noch offen und die Übersetzung in die zweite Sprache kam freilich noch oben drauf.
