Season's Progress for the Wild and Modern Ranked Format

We are now into the second week into the new Wild and Modern Ranked format, and I mentioned last week that I was struggling with the Modern Ranked format. I decided to change my strategy play in the Wild format first, to clock 5 Focus chests before switching to playing in the Modern format.

My Season's Progress

The strategy has been working well for me so far. The Wild Ranked format has been easier for me to play at, as most players are still playing in Wild. I think this can be seen from the DEC rewards for winning battles. Currently, the DEC rewards for Modern is almost 4 to 5 times that of Wild. Moving into the second half of the season, I also observed that I'm getting matched with more level 1 and 2 summoners, and I conclude that those with higher level cards have moved up the leagues.

Rating-wise, I'm currently at a rating of 2,662 for Wild and 1,873 for Modern and I think I'll stick to the Silver League for now as I feel that it's the optimal spot for me at the moment. The change in battle strategy to Wild then Modern has also significantly improved my Daily rewards (Season Rewards too) as compared to playing in mainly Modern.

Daily Focus Changes

This week has also brought some changes in the Daily Focus. Previously, the Daily Focus were only splinter based.

Old Daily Focus

In addition to these six Daily Focuses, another 14 ability based has been added to the Daily Focus. It is somewhat similar to the daily quests before the changes to the Daily Focus. The categories are somewhat broader now as well. For example, the daily quests previously used to have one for Sneak, and one for Snipe. Now, Sneak, Snipe and Opportunity has been group under the Stealth Focus, which allows for more flexibility to use a larger range of cards.

New Daily Focus

Not all Daily Focuses are playable at the lower leagues though, as the lower tier cards do not have some of these abilities.

Conclusion

I'm happy with the results of my current strategy of playing the Wild format to clock at least 5 Focus rewards before moving on to Modern, and will stick to the Silver league for now. I'm also thrilled with the new ability based daily focuses as it gives more flexibility to the battle strategy for the ruleset rather than trying to fit the Splinter (of the daily focus) into it.
