SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge! DRAGONS!

Hi everyone! It's time for the a weekly battle challenge, and the challenge for this week is Dragons. For this challenge, I’m using Djinn Chwala again, with Quix the Devious as my summoner.

About the Monsters

Djinn Chwala
Djinn Chwala is an Epic card which is great at level 1 with high Health (9) and Shield (5) and has the Thorns ability, which deals 2 damage to Melee monsters that attack it. It gets the Enrage ability from level 4 and True Strike at level 6. I’m using the level 2 version which gets an additional attack.

PositionNameDescription
1Djinn ChwalaIt has has 9 Health, 5 Shield and the Thorns ability against melee attacks. I used it here to do some extra damage to the opponent's tank.
2ShieldbearerIt has high health and the Taunt ability. It's used here to take all the initial damage, especially if the opponent uses an all Ranged deck.
3Rune CrafterIt has 2 Ranged attack and the Fury ability and is advantageous if the opponent uses a Taunt Monster too.
4Venari CrystalsmithIt's here to basically provide heals to the tank.
5Pelacor ArbalestIt's my main damage dealer with its Double Strike ability.
6PrismologistIt has good range damage and has the Blast ability. The Blast ability will help chip away the health of adjacent Monsters that it is attacking.

Strategy

The ruleset for Even Stevens meant that only approximately half the cards can be used. The second Lost Magic ruleset also meant that the battle is restricted to mostly Melee and Ranged Monsters. Using the Dragons Splinter here is a little more advantageous, as Quix the Devious slows the opponent down in addition to reducing the opponent's Ranged attack, and neutralising General Sloan. So my strategy was to use Djinn Chwala as the main tank, and the rest of the deck with Life or Neutral Monsters. Shieldbearer is used to take the initial damage .

The opponent opted for the a level 4 General Sloan as the summoner and used a level 5 Supply Runner which has the Swiftness ability. This neutralised whatever advantage I had with Quix the Devious. The two cards that gave me an added advantage over the opponent was Djinn Chwala which helped take out Chaos Knight and Luminous Eagle, and Rune Crafter which helped take out the opponent's Shieldbearer faster than mine.

Thoughts on the cards

I love Djinn Chwala as it is one of the best Dragon cards, with a good amount of shield and high health. It's Thorns ability is also very useful against Melee attackers. Djinn Chwala is also very powerful if stacked with the Amplify ability or used in the Up to Eleven ruleset, as it'll reflect a higher amount of Melee damage back to the opponent.
