Hello, Splinterlands community! By this time, we have just finished the brawl cycle and are now waiting for the next one. This was my first brawl with Yield Guild Games Brawlers (A.K.A. Y.G.G. Brawlers) under the Niflheim realm. I was nervous because they are the Rank #15 guild in all of Splinterlands, but I did pretty well with my 1st brawl, achieving a clean slate of 8 wins and 0 losses! (Though I was lucky with some matches!) Let's go over each of the matches and analyze how I did!

🗡MATCH #1: vs @alricstormbringr🗡

Ruleset 1 - Fire & Regret. This gives all monsters the Return Fire Ability
Ruleset 2 - Taking Sides. Neutral monsters can't be used in this battle
Mana Cap is 58!

~Welp, this was underwhelming because I think he gave me a free pass for this one.

I was hoping for a tough battle using my best gold foil Gladius card to date, Captain Katie! Here's her stats below:

I currently have her at level 3 which gives her a speed boost, very helpful in most cases but I can't wait to get her to level 4 which gives +1 damage! 🤤

This one is an exciting matchup, as we both have Captain Katie! Fortunately, I had mine at level 3, which gives me the speed boost advantage over my opponent's Katie! Surprisingly, his Katie activated bloodlust first after killing my Dax Paragon in Round 1. Luckily, I took down his Katie in Round 2, and everything went S'well.

🗡MATCH #4: vs @llama-kron 🗡

Ruleset 1 - Holy Protection. This ruleset gives all monsters the Divine Shield ability which shields them from any damage for 1 time only
Ruleset 2 - Healed Out. This makes all healing abilities void in this battle

Llama Kron + Kitty?! Indeed, a terrifying summoner no matter which format you play in. Byzantine Kitty the summoner gives all monsters +2 speed, True Strike, and Tank Heal! I thought I would lose this battle but thankfully I had my taunt monster, Mycelic Slipspawn, at the backline to absorb all damage! Venari Knifer was also useful and a great counter against Grund & Carnage Titan who both have the Double Strike ability, this enabled my Venari Knifer to activate his Thorns ability twice for them.

🗡MATCH #5: vs @theepotatolord 🗡

Ruleset 1 - Close Range. This ruleset allows ranged monsters to attack even in the 1st position.
Ruleset 2 - Heavy Hitters. You get to double your damage against stunned monsters!

We both used the newest legendary Fire summoner, Commander Jacek! He gives all monsters +2 speed, the Scattershot & Piercing ability! Chaos is guaranteed when you see him in the battlefield! 🔥 He had Chimney Wallstop! A fearsome gladius card with the Reach ability. We also both had Serpentine Spy at the same level, but thankfully I had an extra speed boost from Supply Runner so I took out his Spy first. This was a crucial move for this battle.

Ruleset 1 - Earthquake. Non-flying monsters will take 2 damage every end of the round

Since the Earthquake ruleset is used here, flying monsters and monsters with Snare ability have the advantage in this battle. I used Raa & Riftwing, which had Flying, and Lira the Dark to remove flying with her Snare ability. The match ended with fatigue, though. So this battle had luck too!

🗡MATCH #7: vs @yourfiend 🗡

Ruleset 1 - Aim True. This ruleset means all monsters CAN'T miss.
Ruleset 2 - Reverse Speed. Monsters with the lowest speed attacks first!

Earth magic monsters and Obsidian are my go-to choice if I see the Reverse Speed ruleset. Still, I tried to counter my thought process and went ahead with Dragon summoner Brighton Bloom which gave all my monsters the Flying ability. I also put Failed Summoner in my tank position combined with Queen Mycelia for the amplify, which was always a great combo. I also had 2 tank healers which helped my team win.

This is, easily, my favorite set up for Life splinter in brawls. Grandmaster Rathe is a beast with the Void Armor ability, not to mention the Amplify as well! Blinding Reflector is best to place at tank combined with Adelade Brightwing's Repair ability. My Captain Katie also took the heat most in this battle. Timing is everything when it comes to the Bloodlust ability that all Gladius cards have. Just take a look at her at the last round!:
