splinterlands contest
Hello friends. I hope you are all doing great. Today I want to share my entry for the splinterlands contest. For this week’s contest, the card I chose is named Minotaur Warrior.
While drawing him, I tried to make his hoof, horn and fur look kind of realistic.
I drew this with graphite pencils: HB/2B/6B/8B
I’d be glad if you tell me your opinion about the drawing.

You have some great art! How did you find out about HIVE and the Splinterlands contests? I would suggest making sure to respond to your comments and to make in introduction post as soon as possible for better curation rewards.
Oh, thank you for your kind words. I was looking into NFTs on Ethereum, their fees and stuff that I came across Hive after lots of googling and looking around. And about Splinterlands Contest, I found out about it when I was looking around the Sketchbook Community. Because this contest was art related, I thought I could join in too. Sure, I will post my introduction post very soon. And of course, I try to answer my comments as best as I can and not to miss any. I’m happy that Hive users take the time to write kind comments about my art. Also thank you for your comment and suggestion, dear castelberry.
You're very welcome! I just want everyone to succeed here on Hive! It's much more profitable to do things the right way long-term than to try and cheat the rewards system for swift gain. I'm not saying you are doing that, but when someone with such great art as yours just joins in and starts to post without introducing themselves... many of the bigger accounts do get suspicious. A little extra effort goes a very long way here on Hive hive.
How did you find out about appreciator?
If you post your introduction post into the OCD community (no need to ever use that as a tag) then you will have a great chance of getting curated from there. Once you get established as a legitimate account... then it will be much easier to grow and get rewarded. Engagement is very important and that's why replying to your comments as you did with me, is essential in growth. You will grow your audience faster and be much more successful in the long run.
Yeah, you’re right. I should've done it sooner, thanks for caring and reminding me. About the appreciator, I don’t know much about it, beside the fact that they are a curator, and I also have seen people tag them. I still don’t know how they select the posts worthy to be curated, though. Can you tell me more about them, please?
Thank you for your kind words about my art, but I feel that my art doesn’t get noticed.
Yes, it can be tough to get noticed at first. It can take quite a while to get noticed or to build a following. Most people should just be here for the community and for the engagement rather than the rewards. The best rewards come to those most active and contributing to HIVE as an overall community. Too many users try to just join up and get great rewards to cash out. I know some people connected to appreciator but i personally don't know much about them or how they curate. How did you hear about appreciator? Who told you about HIVE and brought you onboard? Where did you set your account up from?
I think it’s better to ask “Do you know appreciator?” Not ”how do you know appreciator?” Because I don’t. I don’t know why you are assuming that I know appreciator and it feels like you are accusing me! You are asking the same questions that I have already answered in above comments. Can you please tell me why you are asking the same question over again?
I was asking to get more information and some clarity. You set up your Hive account through Appreciator... so, i figured you might tell me a little more about the process of how you were onboarded... besides that you were just looking around about NFTs.
I didn't assume that you know Appreciator... but i did assume you found out about it somehow well enough to set up an account through them. I'm definitely not accusing you of anything and i'm sorry you feel the need to be defensive.
Sorry for getting worked up, there was a misunderstanding then. Now I'm not sure what you're referring to by "appreciator". You mean the curator, right? I don't know anything about that. I simply made my account through Ecency from signup.hive.io. Is that what you mean by setting up my account through appreciator??
Yes, thanks for answering with a bit more detail for the sake of clarity. I guess Ecency uses appreciator for setting up their new accounts. I don't know much about it all either apparently. No worries.
I’m a newbie and I don’t know a lot. It takes some time to get to know more. Thank you again for the suggestions you made, I’ll keep them in mind.
It definitely takes some time to figure all this stuff out and there are a lot of unspoken rules etc. to learn. As a curator, i try my best to try and verify that the users are honest and legit. Since we do have issues with people trying to take advantage of the rewards it can be quite a challenge. So, thanks for this discussion.
To help support your success and to help you from making any mistakes here on the platform... i wanted to share two posts i made to help newer users do well here on Hive.
How To Get A Great Start on the Hive Blockchain
How To Get A Great Start on Hive 2
Please check those out when you get some time and make sure NOT to do the things in there it warns against doing. I think this will increase your chances of support moving forward and accelerate your growth as well!
Have a great weekend!
Thank you so much for taking the time to help me out. I’ve already followed you and checked out the links. It was very helpful for newbies like me. I really appreciate that.
