Introduction Post

Hello all!

My name is Ryan, but go by the tag line Vurlix on everything online. (Got it from one of my favorite Pokemon Vulpix, which started as my first WoW character back in the early 2000's.)

I'm an Audio Engineer in my early 30's. graduated with my bachelors in 2012 and have been mainly focusing on music production with that knowledge.

I've created songs from all genres ranging from Psytrance to West Coast Hiphop, and even American country music, so my taste is very diverse.

I've always been an artsy person, and never really enjoyed my 9-5 job working customer service day in and day out which was probably what got me interested in Crypto in the beginning.

Ever since I've gotten that degree in engineering I've been using that knowledge to also delve into Artificial Intelligence and using machine learning to produce certain things to ease my work load with music; which I'll totally share in another post.

So what brought me into crypto?

I've always been a techie, so I'm one who's always heard about things as they come out. But I truthfully saw it as a new Old School Runescape scam and dismissed it. My brother was the one who actually got me into faucets. How I can just visit a website a few times a day, and get some LTC and Satoshi. I thought it was pretty cool. I knew my machine couldn't mine any form of crypto, and a lot of the cloud mining back then was kinda hit or miss. It wasn't till recently I saw the market of NFT's that I really got deep into the concept of crypto. Because being the artsy person I am; I know I can make music and art in the form of cryptocurrency. So it was a huge rabbit hole at that point.

Here are some examples of some of the art I've created recently:

Sunrise
Winter Landscape
Flow of Time

So what Brought me into Hive?

Well I first and foremost have to thank @tonytctn01 for his wonderfully done Youtube Video series. That's what opened my eyes to the Hive and a lot of other NFT based P2E games. There after, I did my own research into Hive and was really intrigued by the decentralization focus and the use of bringing social media aspects into the block chain. The idea that anyone with an expertise (given in this situation, blogging) can be rewarded by other users of the community for sharing what they know. I've always had a talent of doing my research so this idea definitely attracted my attention, and here I am. Not only can I share what I know, but I can also give back to the people who teach me new things, like this topic of Hive for an example.

I get excited, knowing this.

For the longest time, I've been posting things on Facebook, only for Facebook to reap the benefits of the content I (and everyone else) create.

I'm looking forward to learning from you all, and hopefully I can share ssome of my knowledge as well.

-Cheers

PS: I'm getting my Spellbook for Splinterlands today, so I'll totally need some help and advice!
