Best Modifier for Captain Frankie

Equalizer Modifier gives all units the same high health which makes every unit feel like a tank. Low health units become strong so you really just need to deal with the damage and Captain Frankie can do that for you as long as you use Rodentians and Tideborn. When everyone in your team has high health and everyone has Inspire, what else do you need?

Modifiers

Equalizer - The initial Health of all Units is equal to that of the Units on either team with the highest base Health.

  • Inspire is very powerful in Equalizer Modifier because it increases melee damage for all friendly units. Since all units now have high health they can survive long enough to fully use the extra damage. Inspire can also stack so if you bring multiple Inspire units which is easy to use with Captain Frankie. In Equalizer Modifier, stacking Inspire can create a massive damage gap between both sides. When your units have high health and insane melee attack, the result can be very one sided in some matches.

5 Combos You Can Do with Equalizer Modifier

ModifierNameDescription
InspireGives all friendly Units +1 Melee attack
- Inspire is very powerful in Equalizer Modifier because it increases melee damage for all friendly units.
Tank HealRestores a portion of the Unit in the first position's health each round
- Tank Heal is very strong in Equalizer Modifier because every unit has high health and can act like a tank. Healing a unit with large health gives a lot of value each round. Since battles can last longer due to high health, Tank Heal keeps your frontline alive. It also forces the enemy to commit more damage just to finish one unit. In Equalizer Modifier, Tank Heal makes your already tanky units even harder to kill.
Knock OutDoes double damage when attacking an enemy that is stunned
- Knock Out is a scary ability in Equalizer Modifier because it deals double damage to stunned units. Since everyone has high health, double damage helps cut through that large health pool faster. The important thing is you need a unit with Stun to activate Knock Out. When it works, it can instantly remove a big threat from the enemy team. In Equalizer Modifier where damage is the most important, Knock Out can be the key combo that can decide the battle in just one turn.
Giant KillerDoes double damage against targets that cost 10 or more mana
- Giant Killer is very effective in Equalizer Modifier especially against high mana units. It deals double damage to units that cost 10 or more mana which is huge. Since these high mana units often have strong attack and good abilities, double damage helps remove them quickly. In a battle where everyone has high health, you need ways to burst down priority targets. Giant Killer provides that strong damage that can swing momentum fast.
Last StandGains increased stats if it's the only Unit on the team alive
- Last Stand becomes even stronger in Equalizer Modifier because it is based on current stats. Since Equalizer Modifier boosts health at the start, the unit with Last Stand benefits from that higher base health. When it becomes the last remaining unit, it gains 50% more stats from what it already gained from Equalizer modifier. That means higher health and higher damage than usual. In Equalizer Modifier, a Last Stand unit can suddenly turn the battle around if you wasn't able to kill the unit with Last Stand ability first.

Battle Breakdown

Early Game:
This modifier fits Captain Frankie so bad since the main problem I had with Rodentians and Tideborn units are they have low health units. For example, the unit with Reach in this battle is Colossus Raider. It is a Tideborn and only has 1 health. With Equalizer modifier, all of the health increases solving the problem. I need a lot of Rodentians and Tideborns so Captain Frankie's Inspire ability stacks increasing the melee damage of my team. With this modifier, I can just stack them and you can immediately see the result.

Mid Game:
With Saltwraith Bulkhead having 10 melee attack and Piercing and True Strike from Captain Frankie, he just one-shot the enemy tank. With the +6 melee attack from my team, this is really insane. It also had some text effect "Brutal" which I encountered for the first time. I didn't add that and it just happened. You can also see the damage of my other units which you can imagine what the result of this battle would be especially since the enemy units don't really have armor on their units.

Late Game:
The battle was finished in just a round with Great Bear Druid from the enemy unit had to take two attacks because 7 damage is not enough to take it down in one strike. Just like what the word said, "Brutal" is the only thing that comes to my mind. I thought a full magic team was strong already but this one takes it on another level especially on Equalizer modifier where all of my units have high health and high damage as well.

Closing Thoughts

Equalizer Modifier changes the game by giving all units the same high health which removes the weakness of low health units. Because of this, battles often become just a fight of who has the strongest attacks where strong combos matter most. A lot of abilities can become very strong tools in this Modifier if you were able to efficiently use it. If you stack damage well, your units can kill enemies even with huge health bars. Equalizer Modifier is simple if you just look at what it does but in reality, it can brutal in result. If you know how to handle this modifier, you will enjoy it as much as I do right now.
