Weekly Battle Challenge : Rexxie!
This week's battle challenge involves Rexxie! Rexxie is an older card but is super fun to use, especially with Trample. Come see it in action!
Rexxie Highlights
Rexxie is an older Alpha/Beta Common card that is a very strong Melee attacker. It starts off with 4 Melee damage, 3 Speed, and 6 Health all at Level 1. That's pretty solid!
Once you get to Level 4, you unlock Trample which means you can't use that Ability until you reach the Silver league.
Icon | Ability Name | Description |
---|---|---|
Trample | When a Monster with Trample hits and kills its target, it will perform another attack on the next Monster on the enemy Team |
So when do I use Rexxie?
- Rexxie is best used in the rulesets that give Melee a big boost such as Equal Opportunity and Super Sneak
- It's not the greatest tank since it doesn't have Armor, Shield, Void, or Void Armor
- With Trample, you can use it as a tank under the right conditions
This Week's Featured Battle
In this week's featured battle, we have an Obsidian Summoner versus Wizard of Eastwood!
Battle Ruleset
Stampede | The Trample ability can trigger multiple times per attack if the trampled Monster is killed | |
---|---|---|
Healed Out | All healing abilities are removed from Monsters and Summoners | |
21 Mana | This is considered a low to medium mana battle | |
Active Splinters | All Splinters except Water are available |
- Stampede
- Bring out the Trample cards!
- Remove Armor with Rust if you're looking to Trample your opponent
- Bulk up with Armor to prevent a Stampede
- Healed Out
- No healing but you can still Scavenge
- Magic damage works well since it goes directly to health (except for Void Armor)
- Prioritize high health cards
- 21 Mana
- This is a low to medium Mana battle so expect to see a full lineup of monsters
With Stampede, your Trample monster can go on a rampage and take out multiple enemies in one turn! So be aware that you don't get Trampled to death by using Armor or high health cards.
If you want to use Trample, try to remove your opponent's Armor.
Without healing, Magic damage is prioritized since it can take out health directly. Try to fit in some Void or Void Armor if possible.
I went with the Wizard of Eastwood because I really wanted to Trample the whole team. My opponent played a lot of Obsidian and almost always played Queen Mycelia so I may sure to remove that Armor buff that she gives.
With 21 Mana, a lot of the cards will be smaller, low health cards so it was a great time to give Trampling a shot.
The Lineup
Position | Card Image | Card Name | Notes |
---|---|---|---|
Summoner | Wizard of Eastwood | Rare Earth Summoner that removes 2 of the enemy Armor. Very critical for Stampede | |
Pos 1 (tank) | Rexxie | The big guy! The trample can do wonder if this works like I am expecting | |
Pos 2 (meat shield) | Furious Chicken | Since it has no attack, this is basically a meat shield to help absorb an attack | |
Pos 3 (attacker/support) | Mycelic Slipspawn | Rexxie has high health but no other abilities to protect him so Slipspawn will draw a lot of firepower away from it | |
Pos 4 (attacker) | Acid Shooter | With 2 mana left, the Scattershot ability could give me a lucky shot and take out a critical enemy |
Let's Battle!
- My opponent went with Obsidian and Queen Mycelia, as I expected. It is a very solid strategy for these rulesets
- My Slipspawn took all the fast damage and allowed my Rexxie to get to work
- First round Stampede!
Did it work?
Yes! My Slipspawn with Taunt took all the damage and allowed my Rexxie to unleash on my opponent. Thankfully, they didn't have any opponents that were faster than Rexxie or with Flying/Dodge. They were also conveniently 5 health or less which led to the perfect Stampede!
Final Thoughts
The Silent Sha-vi is an excellent card at every level. At only $0.11/BCX, it is extremely affordable and should be owned and leveled up by everyone!

Dear @atbui89, we need your help!
The Hivebuzz proposal already got important support from the community. However, it lost its funding a few days ago when the HBD stabilizer proposal rose above it.
May we ask you to support it so our team can continue its work?
You can do it on Peakd, Ecency, Hive.blog or using HiveSigner.
