Splinterlands Art Contest

Hiii guys~
Here’s my entry for the Splinterlands Art contest. This time I decided to draw one of the new cards and I chose the “Possessed Puppet”
This is one of the scariest cards available, she looks cute and insane at the same time and that makes me scared. It reminds me of those scary movies about dolls, but one thing that made me want to draw her was that I loved every feature about her, and I was so excited to see how mine would turn out. So then I started sketching a face with big eyes and long hair.
I wanted to emphasize some of her features which I found interesting. Things like her eyes with long lashes and the bloody smile that looks like the Joker.
Changed her dress a bit but it still has a dolly look. After I drew a bit of blood on her dress I thought it looked good on her so I drew some blood on her neck and near her eyes too.
After drawing the hair strands, I saw they weren’t looking natural so I used the smudge tool on them a little but it made a huge difference. Then I added more strands to make it look like she has a messy look
For the background, I drew some blood as it’s been splashed on the wall.
What I loved about drawing this portrait was drawing all the blood - every time I have to draw blood stains I become so excited to figure out where I should draw it next. It’s just so convenient that I can undo anything at any moment without having to worry about it leaving any sort of mark on the paper. That helps me experiment different ideas.
