Welcome everyone👋, I'm back again with a new post for the Splinterlands BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge!

Holy Protection:
All Monsters have the Divine Shield ability.

untitled.gif

Each week there is a new ruleset for this challenge, this time it's the Holy Protection, as the description says, all monsters will have the Divine Shield ability, but what does it do?
It simply means that the first time each monster takes damage, it is ignored. Keep in mind that monsters that have the Divine Shield ability on their own do not receive this effect twice.

Divine shield doesn't protect against 30x30 poison.png Poison, damage is taken and Divine shield is not removed.

Divine Shield will be re-applied when a monster with the Divine Shield ability is resurrected, it works with the 30x30 rebirth.png Rebirth and 30x30 resurrect.png Resurrect ability.

At the moment there is only one summoner that gives the Divine Shield ability:

And there are 12 monsters that have the Divine Shield ability:

Some curiosities with the name of the Divine Shield, in Warcraft III (one of my favorite videogames) and WoW is a spell.
And it's also an ability in Hearthstone.

35x35 earth.png OBSIDIAN

25x25 Mana.png Mana: 4 | 17x17 Gstar.png Level: 2
Rarity: Rare 25x25 rare.png | Edition: Chaos 25x25 Chaos.png
35x35 +1 magic.png All friendly Magic Attack Monsters have +1 Magic Attack.

Even though no monster will have armor due to the Unprotected ruleset, I still wanted to use magic attack monsters and increase their attack by +1 with this earth summoner.

Unicorn Mustang A.png

35x35 earth.png UNICORN MUSTANG

25x25 Mana.png Mana: 8 | 17x17 Gstar.png Level: 2
25x25 Melee attack.png Melee: 3 | 25x25 Speed.png Speed: 4 | 25x25 Health.png Health: 11
Rarity: Rare 25x25 rare.png | Edition: Untamed 25x25 Untamed.png

In first position, this unicorn is probably my most used untamed earth card because it has great stats and has the 30x30 void.png Void ability that allows it to take less damage from magic attacks.

Oaken Behemoth A.png

35x35 earth.png OAKEN BEHEMOTH

25x25 Mana.png Mana: 12 | 25x25 Speed.png Speed: 3 | 17x17 Gstar.png Level: 1
25x25 Melee attack.png Melee: 2 | 25x25 magic attack.png Magic: 2
25x25 Health.png Health: 9 | 25x25 armor.png Armor: 2
Rarity: Legendary 25x25 legendary.png | Edition: Dice 25x25 Dice.png

In second position, this giant beast costs a lot of mana but has two types of attack and can attack from the second row thanks to its 30x30 reach.png Reach ability. In addition, it has the 30x30 voidAr.png Void Armor ability that makes enemies attack its armor before its health, but in this battle as the Unprotected ruleset is active, it won't be useful.

Runemancer Florre.png

35x35 earth.png RUNEMANCER FLORRE

25x25 Mana.png Mana: 13 | 17x17 Gstar.png Level: 1
25x25 magic attack.png Magic: 2 | 32x32 RR.pngRanged: 2
25x25 Speed.png Speed: 4 | 25x25 Health.png Health: 13
Rarity: Legendary 25x25 legendary.png | Edition: Riftwatchers 25x25 Rift.png

In third position, this Runemancer, like its ally Oaken, has two types of attack. Although it has no abilities, thanks to the Close Range ruleset, it can still attack with its ranged attack when on the front row.

Kron 1.png

35x35 earth.png KRON THE UNDYING

25x25 Mana.png Mana: 10 | 17x17 Gstar.png Level: 1
25x25 magic attack.png Magic: 3 | 25x25 Speed.png Speed: 2 | 25x25 Health.png Health: 10
Rarity: Legendary 25x25 legendary.png | Edition: Untamed 25x25 Untamed.png

In fourth position, Kron will attack from a safe position dealing 4 damage thanks to Obsidian. It has the 30x30 Heal.png Heal ability that will restore 1/3 of its max health (rounded down) each round.

Wood Nymph 1.png

35x35 earth.png WOOD NYMPH

25x25 Mana.png Mana: 4 | 17x17 Gstar.png Level: 3
25x25 magic attack.png Magic: 1 | 25x25 Speed.png Speed: 2 | 25x25 Health.png Health: 3
Rarity: Common 25x25 common.png | Edition: BetaR 25x25 Beta.png 25x25 Reward.png

In fifth position, to protect my frontline, I chose this nymph that will restore 1/3 of the max health (rounded up) of the first position monster's health each round thanks to its 30x30 tank heal.png Tank Heal ability.

Mushroom Seer 1.png

35x35 earth.png MUSHROOM SEER

25x25 Mana.png Mana: 5 | 17x17 Gstar.png Level: 2
25x25 magic attack.png Magic: 2 | 25x25 Speed.png Speed: 2 | 25x25 Health.png Health: 3
Rarity: Rare 25x25 rare.png | Edition: BetaR 25x25 Beta.png 25x25 Reward.png

Finally, in the last position, in case the enemy also wanted to use magic attacks, this creature will decrease the attack of the enemy magic monsters by -1 thanks to its 30x30 silence.png Silence ability.

  • My magic monsters gain 35x35 +1 magic.png Magic Attack thanks to 25x25 Earth.png Obsidian.

  • All enemy monsters get the 30x30 thorns.png Thorns ability thanks to 25x25 Earth.png Mylor Crowling.

  • All magic monsters lose 35x35 -1 Magic.png Magic Attack due to 25x25 Earth.png Mushroom Seers' 30x30 silence.png Silence ability.

Obsidian 2.png

Obsidian for giving my magic monsters +1 Magic attack (5 extra magic damage)

CONCLUSION

Since all monsters will get the Divine Shield ability from the Holy Protection ruleset, my objective was to destroy enemy monsters one by one and not split my attacks with Snipe, Opportunity or Sneak abilities.

In this battle, since there is a lot of mana (57 mana), I used 3 powerful legendary monsters that dealt considerable damage, but I also had at least 1 Tank Heal unit supporting my team.

My monsters were much stronger than the enemy units that lacked attack, and they defeated them very easily.
