Last time I looked at the price of SPT... it was only a little cheaper than DEC... and so at that time it made way more sense to purchase DEC for the 1:1 SPS airdrop points. Obviously this post made me check it out again:
SPT = $0.00992 vs DEC = $0.147 compared to HIVE... So now that DEC is 15 times more expensive than SPT... if you're going to buy anything with HIVE for the SPS airdrop points, it has to be SPT... and then you've got the staking on top of that.

I think your DEC price is missing a zero after the decimal. It should be $0.0147 not $0.147 making it only 1.5x as expensive as SPT and it gives you 4x as many airdrop points.
Yeah to me it's not so much the price right now, because on paper, DEC looks like the better investment...But DEC is so volatile. Who knows where the price will go.
But SPT is community driven. And I can put my tokens to use, curation and delegation helps me grow my stacks. DEC is earned through rentals and game play, which is fantastic...But at the end of the day, I'll always bet on the community :)
